Musicman Stingray 1.

Hi! I recently came across this Music-man Stingray 1. Im looking to find out more general information on it. It also doesn’t play. When I plug in the jack, nada. volume, tone switch, nothing. Definitely plan on keeping this guy for a long time. I have some electronics experience but I’m pretty new to guitars.

Im not sure I have anyone I can trust unfortunately. Learned the hard way a few too many times.

Rod Trussbroken is the resident expert on the pre-Ernie Ball instruments. Might want to reach out to him for a schematic or any relevant info.

There aren't too many of us her that are familiar with the older instruments.

Did you get the guitar like this and, if so, what did the previous owner say about it?

It's impossible to diagnose over the net but look for loose/broken wires, faulty (corroded) battery clip, output jack, fresh battery, guitar output lead etc.

If the above fails to reveal anything then you need to find a Tech to look at it for you. I can help with circuit and wiring schematics if needed.
