MusicMan StingRay II & I guitars (Pre-EB)

Thanks Glen. I found an interesting site (Musicmanbass.global) that has a database of pre Ernie Ball bass serial numbers and interestingly there is a listing for a bass with a similar serial number (B004214) from 1977 that says it is a natural colour.. I wonder if this means the guitar would have been natural as well..

I own 4 Stingray II and 2 Stingray I guitars that I love. Unfortunately one of them has been gutted of all it’s active electronics. I wish there was a way to restore it. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who appreciates these terrific guitars

I was about to test out an old fender hot rod deluxe and i asked the sales guy to surprise me with a guitar to try the amp with. that's when he put this beauty in my hands, and i've been in love ever since. i'd love any further info you might have about this guitar. the number on the plate at base of neck on back is:
G002546

View attachment 29673View attachment 29674View attachment 29675View attachment 29676

Specifically, i very much would like to know how to adjust the truss rod and how it relates to the small allen wrench hole at bottom of the aforementioned serial number plate.
thank you for any help!

Hi, So this is hella long shot based on the date of this post, but I am curious about this guitar. I used to own one exactly like this and even google searching doesn't really show any burst versions of it anywhere. I owned it from around 2002 -2006 or 2009. I cannot really remember when I sold it. Did the finish on this guitar show any slight spiderwebbing? And did you obtain it in either PA or CO? (I have lived both places and cannot remember where I sold it).

Anyway, I hope you are still rocking this guitar. I miss mine.

-Matt
