Which of EBMM guitars is considered the top dog?I know when I played Ibanez Jems were considered the top dog.
There isn't really a flagship model. They're all so different from each other and designed to fit specific needs.

Ibanez Jems DO suck, but the RG Prestige top end and J customs are awesome.
I have an 1987 Green Jem which plays and sounds like a dream. I have an old JS that is also a good guitar. The problem with most big brands like that is that the quality is very inconsistent from guitar to guitar. I've played Jems that were just horribly put together and some that were nice. I don't use it anymore simply because it is so gawdy and that's just not me.
The cool thing about EB is that the craftsmanship is superb with anything that has the Ball name on it. I think we'd all agree on that.

Thats what I'am noticing from playing more EBMM they are all put together and play great eventhe low end sub model I was very impressed with that guitar.
I tried a Silo, I didn't like the sound of it, but it felt great in my hands and it was so smooth played.
well i will be the devils advocate. by top dog would one consider what is sold more and what draws the most money resale wise. then i would say the evh/axis. which is the most popular model by far the evh. its been 10 yrs since ed left like a DA but its still the most sought after and most loved guitar made to this date. dont beilieve me buy a mint evh someday just ask brent or brett. they didnt drop in value but raised.
