thanks, it is a looker. but after finally playing that HH bongo it all became clear. my SR5HH is safe. the Sterling and even SR4 are fair game at this point.

c'mon people. minty fresh 4 string balls looking for a new, good home. white male seeks bongo.

I played a Sterling HH the other day, it sounded great. The neck 'bucker makes a good balance for the bridge 'bucker.

Good luck man.

I live a couple of traffic lights north of ASU. If I didn't have a maple board Sterling 5 HH coming my way at the end of the month, I might have been your guy just because I love Sterlings. But unfortunately, another maple HH would be a bit redunant in my collection, and plus I'd have to go out and get another Bongo at some point since they do kick a whole lotta butt. :)

Stick around, check the 'want to buy' and 'want to sell' threads, I'm sure someone will come your way. You could even try talkbass, there's a lot of trading going on there as well. There also might be a chance you can snag one cheap at a Guitar Center, they've been selling them at crazy prices. Call around, there still might be some left. That's how I got mine.

Bongo fever is quite understandable...last week I saw guitarist extraordinaire Johnny A. (wow)! and his bassist, Jesse Bastos, played a Bongo HH the whole show... and it ruled. The bass sound was terrific and I chatted with Jesse afterwards. A top-notch player and very gracious, Jesse was very passionate about his Bongo and said it was strung with flatwounds. I had no idea... the tonal range of the instrument was amazing... there was more top-end zing than I would have ever guessed. His baby is the HH, but he also so had an HS on deck that he chose not to play. I am now seriously infused with Bongo GAS... :D

I've had a Las Vegas gold stingray and the Egyptian Smoke doesn't look gold at all in comparison. It's sort of a gray/silver with a brownish tint. Just like smoke! it is a cool color fer sure.

Yeah, I have Bongo Fever as well. I tried to trade in my Stingray, but I love it too much to take what anyone was willing to offer for it. I just can't part with it for less than $800, not when I paid 1,300 for it, and not when I know how awesome it sounds. But the best offer I received was $450- :p . Maybe if Mr. Bush sends me a nice big check in the mail next month, then the Bongo will be mine, oh yes...it will be mine...
