  Hello, I'm in need of the entire mute pad assembly (thumb screws, metal "pad mountings" and the pads themselves for a Pre-EB Stingray bridge (string-through). I have dated my bridge to between '76 and '77 approximately. Any assistance on where to get either an entire assembly or just pieces of it would be greatly appreciated.

The EB mute assembly and thumb screws will fit the Pre-EB Basses but EB sold their last kit about 2 years ago. They may have restocked??? Email Customer Service.

Failing that, try some music stores that sell EB instruments. They may have some old kits in stock. Take a pic along so that they understand what you're talking about. Part number for the kit is M05114. It contains hex screws rather than thumb screws. I don't know the part number for the thumb screws.

I've seen them come up on ebay but only rarely.

These are rather hard to find. I have never seen any on ebarf either.
Just do on a few sites what you did here, by posting your wanted ad.

I got lucky and found one within a week. When I bought my '81 Stingray, two of the spring tabs were badly mangled. I posted I needed a mute set, and a very generous individual gave me the one he took off his bass.
Watch out for one small detail if it matters at all for correctness; the preEB thumbscrews are bigger diameter than the EB versions. Both thread-in and work the same though.

Thanks guys for all the advise "AGAIN"!!!!!!! I have been putting this bass together since April of this year and this Forum Rocks as well as the History of the Pre -Erine Ball parts on the sister website. I have collected all but the mute assembly and the body and I just got a line on an 1977 pickup which I will be buying here soon. Which will bring me around the club house turn then through the straight away and to the finish line. But without everyone's comments and suggestions I would be nowhere near "My Pieces Of A Dream" aka my magic stick......:D

You just got the bridge from me, and I am listing the body on ebay this week. It is refinished in Metallic grey that looks a lot like I think it's called Egyptian Smoke that EBMM used.

I'm just wondering, why do you buy it one piece at a time when you can still get those basses for reasonable prices?
