Dear Knuckleheads,

10,000....hard to believe there is this technology and software that enables a direct connection between the manufacturer and the ultimate consumer....and everybody that wants to pile on. It has been a real blast overall and sometimes I want to pour peligrino on my keyboard and sometimes you choke back tears of joy or compassion for the sharing of lifes stories and experiences between a group of knuckleheads that share a passion for our instruments.

10,000...... I think I will write one of those annoying holiday letters where miserable families gloss over the rehab, felonies, infidelities and therapists bills and brag about how perfect their incipid family is. Ok....... I will just spew out random thoughts and stop when my brain starts hurting or the coffee gets cold.

Dear Friends,

Wow...what a few years this has been....Since we started this Poppa has quit drinking, is on a diet, and is generally less cranky. He has used this really strange "forum" to interact and obsess with a group of strangers that covers all spectrums of society. From Doctors to lawyers and giging pros and ex spies. THere are a few stalkers in there too. Basically if it were central casting for the movie business we could handle all roles for any movie.

The forum has kept my interest in all things Music Man maybe at the detriment of Ernie Ball. SInce getting involved here we have new LE's, some splendid anniversay models (that sort of personally validate some of my lifes work) the whole BFR concept,
a new five string bass, a new six string bass, a bagload of two pickup models and even a Y2d. DOnt forget the fleecing of you guys with the Dargie....

WE have partied like and with rock stars and ceo's. The consumers got to rub elbows with the virtuosos and vice versa. They cost me an arm and a leg but are worth it for many reasons.

We've had nasty fights. Bad ones. Right now the French hate me........There a bunch of people with defective dentistry that would like to make me road kill....I even fought a garage dweller/bass dealer that was kind of like arm wrestling with Steven Hawking except Steven Hawking is brilliant..

But we have had amazing collective displays of compassion and humanity. From recovering stolen basses to saving basses for struggling members to collectively trying to help people with life changing health issues. This forum shows what the news rarely shows.......that there are a boatload of good in people. Everyday. You just have to know where to look and this place is a good start. Like the news media the focus can tend to be towards the negative but I choose to bask in the the positive and reaffirming qualities those who dont PM me show. (just a little humor to make sure you are paying attention)

I'm learning. I dont open threads that I know in advance are beat to death or ones that will break my groove. I try not to respond to questions like how long have I've been bald.......

Ultimately you are judged by your children. I have been so fortunate to have two sons
that made the decision on their lifes work. They have very different styles but I couldnt be prouder or happier with thier efforts and our future.

I would really like to be judged by my Grandchildren.......BRIAN!!!!!!!! Get to work!

You're the best Sterling, you are a hell of a man with the best company ever. I look forward to meeting you just to shake your hand.

You actually make quality guitars for us lefties when most companies see them as nothing special and we thank you for it.

In the few years I've been on this forum, it has made me laugh out loud and has brought tears to my eyes. I really feel blessed that I can communicate with a bunch of great people from all over the world through this board!

It is an honour to be part of this community, BP. I hope you will continue this beautiful work for as long as you can!

That's a really touching post, Sterling. I'm very fortunate to have been around for a lot of those stories and especially to share in your generosity for throwing outrageous parties and sending one-off guitars signed by Knuckleheads off to far corners of the world, not to mention all the other great things that happen here.

Here's to another 10,000 posts!

Sterling...as a musician, I can't thank you enough for making my two guitars that I cherish. As most of us know...the feel of a guitar is a personal thing...either they feel right or they don't. Time and time again...the message from us in the collective mass make it clear...you build the most wonderful instruments on the planet!

I look forward to seeing what the future brings!

Cheers Big Poppa!

After lurking around for a really long time and then joining the forum (not really an active poster though, but I look and read a lot!!!) I found out that this is a really awesome place. It still amazes me that the boss of such a huge company takes time to chat with the customers and people who are really passionate about his guitars! I would just like to say that I think this forum is great and that BP is very inspiring and really an example for other company's!

BP,

I've always been amazed at the amount of time you spend on this forum...making people feel welcome and personalizing the Music Man experience for us, in a way that goes beyond playing the awesome instruments you create. Thank-you.

Sterling,

Awesome of you to take advantage of your 10000th as an opportunity to look at the bigger picture! You have no idea how much I respect and admire you for your way of thinking.

Cheers to another 10000!

BP,
Thanks for everything you've done for us. From the personal insights, the parties, the incredible instruments we play.

I still can't believe that a bunch of knuckleheads from all walks of life are fortunate enough to pick the brain of one of the more incredible minds in the business to rubbing elbows with your endorsers. It's been an incredible ride and I hope that there is no end in sight...

I can only show my appreciation by participating and buying the guitars and other odds and ends, but it seems to pale in comparison to everything we've been given. It is definitely appreciated by many. I hope you continue on as you have been and don't let the bastards wear you down to the point that you don't think that it's worth it anymore.

If I had the money, I would buy an EBMM guitar and/or bass every week. I love this company and its people. The whole company just oozes with class. Sorry to sound like a brown-noser; but when I find a company who lives by the golden rule, I like to stick close to them. This company is that company...

And that's even with all my stupid repetitive questions about all the Steve Morse guitar models...
