I used to favor single coils and at least 10-52s or 11s on my standard tuning guitars.

But that changed with I received my purple ASS:

Dual humbuckers (new to me)
009s (never ONCE used 009s in my entire life)
Single cutaway (Strat man)

And I'm LOVING it. It's such an incredible guitar. I wasn't too worried about getting a good/bad EBMM as they're very consistent (consensus being, at least) but in spite of my very limited experience I wouldn't be surprised if I simply got a 'good one' (in the small scheme of MM tonal variances between similar instruments).

 Holy mother of all things drool-worthy, the neck on that thing SUCKS!! Beautiful!

And doesn't the strat now just seem clunky and unwieldy in comparison?
(BTW, in what I assume to be a moment of confusion you've got the wrong strap on the Axis. I won't tell anyone, just get it fixed quickly.;))

Just imagine that Steve let that one go and that his Axis sport SSS is his favorite :)

I have never seen a bad EBMM. I had a more than 10 and currently owning 7 and I can tell you that they were and are all great instruments

The Ass is great guitar really

I've been a mad collector / tone hunter of EBMM guitars for years, I have owned 27(!!!) over the years, at different times, as I hunted down the best of the best. My collection peaked at 8 but right now stands at 2 - the "blessed with some special magic" Axis Sport SSS and a tobaccoburst Albert Lee SSS.

All were great guitars, perhaps with the exception of the Axis EX which is non-USA so a moot point really. Might get me a Reflex next....

That Strat looks a lot like my old one. For nearly 20 years I played a Tele and a Strat. I swore I'd never get rid of either. Four Balls later & they're both gone. I have no regrets. EBMM are the best guitars I've ever laid my hands on.

It never ceases to amaze me how many Fender players take to EBMM guitars in such a fast way= smooth transition. If you pay attention every other company would be a distant second. I am in that category myself as I played nothing but Fenders for over 20 years myself, never even owned a Gibson though I played a lot of Lesters I borrowed for months from friends I never felt the need to own one. I played a Ball it was all over and I have been addicted since. Though I still love my Fenders I still have, I do not see myself ever buying another. Nice ASS and Strat you have in that picture, also the addiction should kick in swift.

Well she sure is causing me dilemmas...

1) I've not played a SINGLE ONE out of my other 5 electrics since I've had her.
2) I've not even played my other EBMM, a '99 Axis Sport with MM90s
3) I'm considering getting rid of them all except my Strat (my baby)
4) and even so, I've still not played the Strat in ages... :(

It's just so good... Sounds like I want it, plays like I want it but never knew and looks incredible.

After I got my JP (which later got sold) and my 25th I quite literally played them for ten minutes, looked at my Les Paul, then lol'd for about 5minutes straight.

Same thing happened while I was test driving a custom shop '69 strat, then my SIlo Spec came in. Same thing. EBMM's are enlightening. As wonderful as Strats and LP's are, there's just something really special about EBMM's.

I know exactly what you mean. Once I got my Silo Special (Michelle), the headstock on the strat seemed so ridiculously long that I laughed out loud at it! In the last five months the strat only come out of it's hardcase once, and that was for an impromptu lesson at my place where we needed the second guitar. It's in serious need of a re-fret. I doubt it will ever get it. I don't know if I'll ever play it again.

And the honeymoon period with Michelle still isn't over. I love that damn guitar so much! (Thanks Slav!)

Oooo goodie! 11's on the maple is so fantastic! I still play it! But nothing can beat Music Man profile of the neck! So 10 are extremely good on it! Just love it man :)

Lots of love!

I'd sell at least three of my electrics, potentially 4. But there is absolutely NO second hand market here in Lux and two of these I wouldn't get any money for (Charvel mutts) so I'll just give to kids.

The MM90 I could sell but I'm just not ok shipping the guitar out for now... I have no MM hardcase for it either. It's a shame as she's absolutely incredible (and that neck... mhmmmm).

Guitars (I'd sell them all except the Strat and potentially the blue Charvel, my first ever guitar):

Sweet guitar! The purple makes it even more epic. Also, which Fender model is that and what pick ups are in it?

2002 Highway 1 Strat. Pickups are a SD TB59 and two SD SSL1s... always been a lot more of a Seymour Duncan person and never really liked many DiMarzios :p

The switching on this is very cool: B/B+M auto split/B+N/M+N/N.
She's my baby. Sounds huge.

Yeah, Fenders seem like they use the wood that EBMM rejects!
