Well, "non-perfect" means he's looking for a beat up cheap one I'm sure. This doesn't qualify as that. Jimmie saw it in person (and had seen the pix), and the first thing he said was "That's not that bad really". It's not, but it doth bloweth chunks.
I got one of those Vox AmPLUG's for Xmas in the AC 30 model, and yesterday spent some time playing the guitar thru it at Max gain. I wasn't fully into the sound. But when I rolled the gain way back, and turned the vol up, it was heaven. Real crisp and clean, but with just the right "bite". THAT is the sound that guitar does best. So, you guys were right in that I needed to figure out what that guitar best, and use it. And I think I found it. I could have played that "tone" all night. Granted, it wouldn't have worked with Sabbath, but it would have worked for a lot of other things because it kinda of provided a "natural distortion" type of sound.
If I get time, which isn't likely these days, I'll try and post some sound clips of my guitars. Finding the time is the trick though!
