it looks like it's faded. I'm not sure if the EX suffered with that problem?

Most likely....the parts were made here and sent there for assembly...especially if they were produced at the time of the end of the run of that other guy's signature model...you're pretty much not going to trash dyes, you use them till their gone...

Apologies for the double post;

I was researching the Axis EX, which sounds alot like the one I have, since the neck and fingerboard are in two different peices, it has the volumes know as the 'tone;' knob and doesn't have the 'Axis' on the headstock, top APPEARS bookmatched, I am far from an expert though, and my picures make it hard to tell. Control layout is also the same as that of the EVH.

So tell me experts, what have I bought? Either way its a fabulous guitar and I am stunned it cost so little, steal for a 17 year old working at coles!

thats amazing mate! Very cheap! its not an EVH, unless the sig is worn off the headstock. Axis EX I reckon.

hah, i worked at Coles for about 8 years, i worked my ass off to buy my first REAL amp, a Marshall Bluesbreaker combo. Took ages to save the $3000.

I always thought the EX had a single piece top rather than book matched, or was it just some of them? I actually like the fading on that. It looks very cool :)

Dont they send the parts over and make them in Japan for the Asian Market?
