I can't accurately put into words just how amazing an event NAMM is. Without a doubt it is any musicians wet dream. I had a fantastic time there and kept finding myself coming back to the EBMM booth. The atomosphere and energy there was nothing short of amazing.
I was fortunate enough to exchange a few words with Sterling and Brian. Got to meet and hang out with Mario, same goes for Pete, Drew, AJ and more. All super nice, friendly dudes and I'm so very glad to have had the opportunity finally met with you guys!
My fun didn't end there. Somehow I was able to talk myself into going backstage for a few major events at NAMM. Every night I was there I found myself backstage at a show such as the Bonzo Bash at the Observatory, invited to the Sabian company party and I also found myself backstage for Tamas event. Mike Portnoy played Dream Theater/LTE material with Tony Macalpine, Billy Sheehan and Derek Sherinian. Mind=Blown
I met every musician I've idolized and everyone was just so nice. After a while you lose that shock value to meeting celebrities and just realize they're everyday people like you and I. Far more talented but, they're just people too. People who have sacrificed and dedicated the time to being phenomenal. It was a truly inspiring event.
The new Majesty guitar was even better than I anticipated in both aesthetics and playability. It's such a gorgeous instrument. The finishes were to die for and surly photographs do not do them justice. The mirrored inlays were so captivating and memorizing. I couldn't keep my eyes off of them. I can't imagine how insane they'll look on stage. It goes without saying but, I'm picking myself up one! Perhaps two if the wife allows it.
Please feel free to check my Instagram as I posted a ton of photos and videos of my NAMM experiences.
NAMM 2014, truly one for the books.
