Hi Guys,
I just bought my first EBMM guitar 2 days ago. It is a black Axis SS with humbuckers and vintage trem. I love it. I originally was interested in a Wolfgang, but after reading many posts on this site, I started looking at the Axis. I saw this guitar in a GC many months ago. When I went back to the store nearly a year later, it was still there! I got it for $772 Brand New! (I still had to pay $55 for the MM case). I hate spending money, so if I did good let me know!! Although it played good, I knew it could be better. I got out my old Charvel Model 6 (plays awesome!) and measured the string heights and started adjusting. After I set the intonation and checked the relief (I learned how to do all this on THIS site!), it played 2x as good. I picked up some Lemon Oil and Birchwood Casey Tru Oil today. Any other helpful hints would be appreciated!

Dude, EBMM's are suppose to come with the case, but you got a great deal, so you factor the case in it's still a great deal on a great guitar.

Have fun and let's see some pictures.

Enjoy, Glenn |B)

Thanks for your reply. I didn't know about the case. I guess that is why they gave me a good deal on one (ha). The salesman kept cryin and moanin about not making any money on the guitar. Anyway, I really like it. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Thanks,
William

Congrats on the Axis.....and as I always say "Welcome to the addiction!" Now you have one, soon you will have two, then three, and on and on...heheheheheh.

Welcome to the forum as it is always interesting and entertaining. You will find that there is a ton of knowledge here that is shared with no egos. Best forum for the best guitars made for the best people who play and post.....

That's guitar Center's MO.. "They aren't making a dime off it" It's bull****, but oh well.

Funny (or not so funny) story about GC:
A couple of years ago I bought a brand new Taylor acoustic from GC (I know but they are the only place in my area to sell them and it really is a nice guitar), anyhow, the salesman tells me the case does not come with the guitar and is extra and proceeds to try to sell me a generic hardshell one size fits all case for, get this, $200 extra!!!
I proceed to argue with him about how I am spending $1500 on a guitar and that price should more than cover the cost of a case. Besides I was pretty sure that Taylor guitars are supposed to be sold case included, He tells me all of their guitars are priced "case not included" and procceds to "search" for a Taylor case, he returns with another case, this time saying it will fit my guitar and this one was "only" $125. Of course by this time I am really getting pissed and tell him if I can't get the case incuded in the price of the guitar I am walking and handed the guitar back to him. He then said he would check one more time to see if he could locate a case for it and talk to his "manager" about including it. 5 minutes later he shows back up carring a case with the word "Taylor Guitars" molded into it and lo and behold it had all the warranty info for the guitar I was holding in my hand inside it w/matching serial numbers. What a coincidence! And his "manager" said I was indeed correct, the case was included in the price of the guitar.
I swear if there weren't guitars hanging on the walls I would have thought I was in a used car dealership.

All I am going to say is that except the Bongo and SUB models, They come from the factory with the case included in the price..That's all I am going to say.

Jon, I understand you reason for just making a statement about that cases. I love the fact tha you guys only sell them that way. Bettter to protect the investment.

I've never bought anything from GC, when I'm there I get the feeling that I'm being sold a clunker instead of the vet I went in looking for. I know that they are a big EBMM dealership and there must be people out there that have had good experiences, at least I hope so. They do the samething with Fenders! The 57 reissues come with a tweed hard shell case, but they tell you that they don't and try to either give you a gig bag or a universal case. Well a gig bag is as good as wrapping a guitar in newspaper (IMHO) and well if it comes with a factory case, that's what I want.

And that's all I'm gonna say about em.

Later, Glenn |B)
