Hey everybody. I just got a Sterling a few weeks ago, and I'm beyond impressed. The fit and finish is almost flawless, incredible tone, and the best neck I've ever played. I haven't gigged with it yet, but I'm hoping it can take a pounding.

So I figured I'd sign up and talk with you other EBMM nuts.

And of course, the obligatory pictures... 2006 Limited Edition Sterling:

Welcome!

I think both Music Man and the dealers underestimated the 2006 LE. We didn't make that many so they wil be collectable.

So did I. Much more beautiful in person.

Welcome, and nice bass!

By the way... did I hear you say "almost flawless?" :D

And don't be worried about gigging. These Music Man basses are real tough. There's tons of stories around here about basses taking a tumble and surviving with minimal damage.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I love that LE Bongo as well, I can tell that this forum won't be helping my GAS any. And Bill, I think I'll be sticking with the black pickguard. To some it's boring, but I love the look of black on black. To me, black just... fits. I don't know, I'm crazy. ;)

As for the "almost flawless" thing... well I'm just a little bit obsessive about the tiniest details. Actually, the only thing I can really think of that is wrong with it is that when I switch from parallel to single coil, you can hear a buzz when the switch is in between the two modes (it doesn't buzz when it's actually in the position though). But I figure if that's the only problem with the bass, I have nothing to worry about! Oh and the case... beautiful thing it is, but the locks kind of suck. Sometimes if you unlock the case and open it, then close it again, it automatically locks again. I accidentally locked the bass in it once, not realizing that it would automatically lock! So I just have to figure it out.

I can't wait to get a Hipshot detuner on her, and do a little bit of recording!

Graeme
