Ok...I have to face the music...I will give you a call right away Scott...well, it's Satruday now...so I don't think you will be there...but I will call first thing Monday morning.
I doubt that you personally "messed up" at all. You wanted a particular bass, you went to a particular shop to get it, paid your money and are/have been waiting patiently. As to whether or not your shop messed up, I don't know, have no idea.....
But you clearly haven't done anything wrong. Whatever is holding up the delivery of your bass, I know this - there is no better team to have working on the situation. The guys at EBMM, especially Scott and Jon, are very, very good to us when/if we have problems or questions.
Thanks Jack...that's reassuring. I certainly don't want to start out on the wrong foot...particulary after only my first few posts here.
I was going for convenience since the music shop I used is only blocks away...and I thought it was ok as long as he was going through a reputable dealer. I'll make sure to speak w/ Scott on Monday.
Yeah...it certainly has been a long wait...and trust me...I've been calling the music shop and stopping by regularly once I got into the 3rd month. I have had other basses custom ordered that I waited for longer, but I knew the wait would be long...so that was bearable. But in this case, I was told it would take about 2 months...so my patience has definitely been tested. But, in the end, I'm sure it will be worth the wait (I have to keep telling myself that to stay calm)
Mikey, your patience and willingness to blame yourself for some of the delay makes you a model member here on this forum. IMHO, you have been one of the most patient people I have seen post on any board.
Hopefully, Monday will find your bass on the way to you.
You didn't do anything wrong at all! The dealer who sold a Music Man sideways is the one who is going to feel it. Typically what happens is that the limited one year warranty is voided, and the store who sold it sideways it responsible for any warranty issues.
I don't want you to worry about any of that because I will make sure that your needs are taken care of.
She has finally arrived!!! It's been a long time coming...but well worth the wait. She is absolutely beautiful and sounds great. Picked her up yesterday and am more than pleased. The craftsmanship in this bass is definitely top notch. She came setup from the factory with the action dead low (just the way I like it) and there is not a single buzz or dead spot anywhere...just sweet. And the finish is amazing.
I still haven't taken the plastic covering off the pickguard yet. I know I'm being silly, but I don't want to scuff her up. But, I guess that's the pickguards function, isn't it? Ok...maybe I'll be able to talk myself into taking the plastic off tonight.
That's right...gotta get some pics going. Let me pull out the ol' camera tonight and get a few shots up. I'll have to pull myself away from the bass for a few moments to do that, though.
As much as we like pics still no need to hurry on getting them up. You waited a long long time for that SR 5 you play it until you feel like posting pics. I am still amazed at your patience in all this.
Ok...I'm finally posting some pics posted of my new addition:
It took me a while to get these pics up because in addition to endless hours of playing and gigging and just enjoying this beauty, last Monday me and my wife also had another new addition:
