Hi All,
...and my second post here!.. I am from Nottingham (middle of the UK), and have arrived at my first Stingray finally, having always, always had the feeling in my head that I wanted one.
I have come from Warwicks, but have just got hold of a 2005 SR4 Vintage Sunburst 3EQ, Maple board. Very pleased with the bass - taken a few hours to really get into the groove, what with the wider neck and bigger body that my current Corvette, but I have got there now, and am starting to really flow on it. I am 6'2", and the bigger body of the bass looks "right" on me - a "proper" bass, my wife said. Really powerful and punchy. I have a feeling that this may be the first in a collection.....
Couple of things - firstly, Dan at ernie ball c/s has been fantastic in answering a few questions - nowhere have I found better customer service, period. He is sending me a new "bushing" which goes around the tuner post of the E string, since the one I have is not quite flush to the wood of the headstock - no big deal, but I would like to sort this at some point (how do I attach it, and how would I remove the old non-flush one - anyone know??)
Secondly, where would I get a pearloid (black) pickguard (or a morror finish one)?? Anyone know?
Any way, that is me. Nice to meet you all, and hope to "talk" soon.
From a dark, windy, rainy UK
Cheers
Chris
