Finally got a Stingray. I wanted it in Black With a Maple but at guitar center they didn't have it. Tried a few double humbuckers but after one of the guys there explained to me singles humbuckers are actually better i went with a Stealth Black Stingray Slo Special. I love the feel of the neck and its perfect and comfortable. I replaced The pickguard with the one from my Sterling Ray 34. The problem is i have to sell my Ray 34 to pay my father. it's hard to have to let it go.

Very nice.

What was the colour of the original pg?

The original was all black like the body. I did get used to the feel of the old one that when I put the new one it was a little weird at first. The necks on slo special stingrays are so comfy I don't think I'll ever buy a stingray that isn't slo special.

Congratulations! Very cool 'Ray!

However, that:

is utter BS. They all rock equally hard!!!

yeah but the guy told me that single humbuckers are more focused while doubles aren't because of the change of tones. i was struggling to find the right tone when i was trying out the double humbuckers. but as soon as i plugged in and played the single it was so powerful i couldnt believe it. from a single humbucker i got so much punch and everything i wanted. at first i thought HH rays were better. glad i chose the single though.

and here are pics before the PG change.

Nice pics...you look like one happy dude.

As for selling the Ray34...having a backup bass is not such a bad idea. You could even put some flats on the the Ray 34 for a different sound. Old school, motown, smooth sound that only flats can give you.

Get a job young man and pay off your dad that way. Then you can keep both.

The thing is I put up the Ray on craigslist before and someone offered to buy it because I wanted to buy a black Ray with Maple neck from a guy from craigslist. My dad offered to pay the rest but then I told him I wanted double humbuckers Ray instead. So he took me to guitar center and I chose what you see instead. The person already sent me a check for the Ray 34 so my backup bass is gonna have to be something else.

Sweet! It's a Slo special too!

The original is great, but there's nothing wrong with the dual pickup models. I've had both, and actually prefer the dual pickups.
