The first time in the flesh was seeing both Albert Lee and Steve Morse together with a young man named Sterling playing bass. I didn't appreciate (or realize) what I was seeing at first. The next time was at Festival Hall with the Baby Animals after supporting VH on their European tour. The side of the stage was littered with EVH models. I was instantly hooked!

First time I seen a Ball... errrr...

Must have been the very early nineties on a poster ad in a musicstore in the town where I was born. Was an EVH...

First time in the flesh: At our forumite Mick's shop in Landshut/Bavaria. I was his wonderful trans-teal Silhouette H/S/H.

I am thinking if you have the cash. The Axis BFR is the way to go the tone block will get Les Paul ish while the 5 way switch gives strat like flexablity

EVH ads/interviews in guitar mags ~1991. I was so intrigued by that thing after that, the look, the custom pickups, the pure clean tone, etc. I think the first one I ever saw (aside from the one in EVH's hands at a convert) was in 1995, I bought it, still have it, love it! woo hoo!

No offense, but this entry seems seems oddly out of place in this thread..

I first saw a MM guitar in Hart Music in downtown Grand Junction, CO in 1997 or so. It was a bass but I can't tell you which one...

Been meaning to reply to this but keep forgetting, well until now.

Since I am an old newbie at guitar playing(well at least trying:D) never payed much attention to any guitars until about 7 years ago.

Anyways my first sighting was at the Dallas Guitar Festival back in 2003 or 2004, remmeber I am old:)

EBMM had a small booth and on display was a Luke, JP and a couple of others stopped dead in my tracks and said WOW, but at that time was out of my price league and skill set, still have my pick fom that I got at the booth.

Mine would be an EVH guitar in a magazine in the early 90's. The first time I saw one in the flesh was a guitar show just after they were released. Mr EVH is what bought me to EBMM.

Basically the same story for me. I'm wasn't a huge Van Halen fan, but I read a clip from a magazine about the development of the EVH model. It was love at first sight. About once a month I would stop by a local music store (Vennamans -- which no longer exists) and would stare at the EVH. They always had 1 or 2 there.

I'm still not a big Van Halen guy, but I give the man credit for leading me to EBMM! Oh yeah, and I need to thank my bassist yeras ago who played a Stingray and had nothing but good things to say about EBMM quality and sound. That helped too :D

First time that I really paid attention was to Steve Morse; I'm a huge fan of his playing and writing. His "Power Lines" video is sweet.
