I bought a half-sheet of this cellulose abalone 4-ply material from a supplier in China and I made a new 'guard for my SR5 with it this morning. The stuff is a little difficult to work (low melting point, so it gets gummy) but the results are pretty fantastic!

If you look at some of the pickguard sites (Pickguard Heaven, Pickguardian, etc...), you can buy one in "tiramisu". It's a very similar look but with more orange and red.

Thanks!

Tiramisu looks like this with a Dargie.

I don't suppose you have any more of that beautiful ugliness and a desire to make a Bongo pickguard with me sending you one for a template. :D

I only bought a 9 x 15 halfsheet, since I wasn't sure the color would jive. The company is EY Guitar Parts and it takes about 3 weeks to your door from China.

Celluloid Plastic Abalone pickguard Material sheet,4ply,size 24cm*50cm

If you order 2 pieces and send them my way along with your template, I'll chop one into a 'guard for you.

Solderjunkie, I must say that PG makes the Dargie look really good! I've seen Tiramizu on a DDII that did not look bad but that color you found really does it justice!
