Randy, I don't know why but your black/black/maple SR5 seems a good bit classier than the other ones i've seen. It's GAWJUS!!!
Thanks, yours is nice too.I get the "Nice Bass" comment almost everywhere I take it. Looks aside though there seems to be nothing it can't handle sonically. It does whatever I need it to, at will........

I could make Michigan Jokes....but I won't

Strings through are just to appease purists. There is NO difference except you will break fewer g strings slapping with non string through. You can have your nickel nut Ill take our pateneted compensated nut...One of the reasons why we didnt use the teardrop p is that it was the bigest complaint on the StingRay..That was the original toilet seat bass. The wheel will never go away.....

He certainly did say toilet seat.

But everyone just act like he didn't, okay?

I originally (long ago, far away) thought the pickguard was too big on the SR5, but once you live with them for a while, I think you get used to it and - in my case, anyway - begin to love how they look. Well, this is all ancient history for me.

String-through body can also present problems to those of us who use flats. Flats don't take the bending as well as rounds.

The 20th anniversary Bongo should have toliet flush knobs on it BP. That would just kill. Little chrome flush handles would rock.

6 I ran out of beer.

I am going to make some fluser knobs for a bongo. I think that would be like the best pic ever to show up on TB of a bongo.

Then I am gonna gig the crap out of that bongo. When I want pretty I go back to the SR5.

tk says basses and bases are covered.

after reaquainting myself with my friend's SR5 last week I'd definitley have to say that the SR5 is great how it is.... now for my thoughts on the "perfect" Psychicpet Bongo.... :D :D

BP, you know I gotta live up to the moustached Mona award besdies, consider my work that of the R&D dept., under the heading of "yes, a Bongo can be completely f'd with and still retain all of it's Bongo-ness and Gimpel Growl"

Either you're really good with Photoshop or PS has a new "de-fretting filter". If only I could get that filter as a stand-alone, liberated from the cyberworld.

That is really close to what I had in mind. I think that would totally be the funnest time to be had over changing a knob.

Maybe I am somewhat warped in my old age.

Batmobile eat your heart out. Bongomobile puts you on the trailer. I can see a new superhero basser appearing in comix boox all over the galacksie: "Bongoman", and his faithful sidekick, "Slinky" [who's gonna be waaaay more slinky than Catwoman......]. The Tone Joker ain't got nowhere to hide, as Bongo and Slinky will flush him out!!!

It would be nice if it was tad bit lighter, and had wider string spacing, but other than that it's find the way it is IMO. Trust me I've modified my SR5 every way imaginable and ended up putting it back to original stock form
