+1 for adopting it.

If JP doesn't want it for any reason I'll gladly take it and even make some videos playing power chords with it. :D

Slav please dont self moderate especially in light of some of your recent posts.....

Here is the deal Moderators requires moderation. ALso it is not a god given right that every thread will make you happy. Self moderate and dont respond... or go to the next one.....also this thread is strange anyway...a bunch of hijacking in a thread that was pretty weird to begin with.

I have to be honest I was tempted to check phils you tube page to see what kind of a player since we have never made a guitar that he was happy with...but I didnt Phil's own here admission that all 5 weren't bad unlike he has said in previous emails and PMS to others was enough for me.

PS I just sent the guitar that Phil returned to John Petrucci...seriously. Pete re set it up and is not having any of the problems that Phil had.

Can we just lock this thread up already? Sterling, is there really a need to keep saying that I wasn't happy with the instruments? Everybody who knows me knows that I was damn well happy with the instruments. I love the JP's as much as anyone here, but when you get 5 that needed to be fixed, it makes your heart sink just like it would do to anyone. I've been a loyal user of this brand for 6-7 years and I really don't think I deserve this. And if you guys did indeed send my old guitar to JP, thats great for him. I think this whole bashing me thing is getting a little out of hand. Also, what difference does it make what kind of a player I am? I love the instruments and they work for what I do. Since the majority of the ones I've owned I bought new, I would think that would make you happy that someone is supporting your product. Every forumite here knows that I'm a nice guy and that I have a huge respect for this company and the products.

As I said before, I love these guitars as much as anyone, and I'm not in a position financially where I can buy a however many EB's a week and then flip them, so sometimes you have to sell a few just to buy one.

Here's the list of your products that I've owned AND have been happy with:

Mystic Dream JP6
Mystic Dream JP6 with RW neck
Ruby Burst BFR JP6
Koa BFR JP6
Dargie II BFR JP6
Dargie II BFR JP7
AL HH
90's Silo with Floyd
JPX (which would have been a keeper)
2 20th Anniversary Silhouettes (one piezo, one non piezo)
Blue Dawn Sterling
Red Sparkle Stingray 5
Bongo 4 HH Sapphire Black
Bongo 4 HH Radiance Red
Bongo 4 HH Egyptian Smoke
Bongo 5 HH Desert Gold

Now try to tell me I'm not loyal to the brand. I loved each and one of these guitars/basses, and not all of them had issues, but some did, and were fixed. But when I had to put out money to ship them back each time (money that I didn't really have) it made my heart sink.

I have owned a 15 of these bad boys and used or new no problems ...NEVER had a bad neck on one ever.....and i do my own setups ...learn how ..its ez and you can make your own conclusions ...I really cant see a twisted neck leaving the factory ...and it wasnt a long enough period to twist itself, unless it was left in some extreme temps.

Lenny, you've been lucky with the guitars, as I'm sure others have as well. Maybe I just have bad luck. Also, I know how to do my own setups. I used to work for Ibanez and used to see twisted necks constantly. Pete even agreed that the neck on mine had a slight twist. It was enough to where we couldn't get the action low enough and the guitar would not stay in tune. Who knows what caused the twist. The fact is that it was twisted when I received it.

Wow! What an incredible ending to this story. I couldn't have ever guessed it. Goes to show you Music Man is the real deal. They sell the same guitars to their customers as the artists who use them. In this case, an artist got a customer or store stock instrument. Amazing.

I understand that you're frustrated. I would be too, but I don't think there's a need to swap guitars if you're happy with them. There will always be new guitars and new things, it's guaranteed, but if I was happy with my instrument, I'd definitely hold on to it. Selling guitars and buying newer ones IMO shows that you're not completely satisfied with them.

So the other guys here that buy and sell their guitars to get other EB's aren't happy either I suppose?

I usually stay away from these kind of threads, but this time. Phil, I don't really know you except from posts here on the forum. You seem like a nice guy. But you opened up a can of worms by stating you had to return a guitar and when peeps asked you what happened you invited them to pm you. You have been here long enough to know that you should not have mentioned it. It should have stayed between you, Pete and EB. No big deal, take your lumps and move on. It will be all forgotten in no time.

Now that I got that off my chest...............I think Glenn or MikeVT need a neck twisting and not on a guitar............ :D

Phil Calm down You started a locked thread back up again and now feel picked on. ASHould have let sleeping dogs lie.

Now let me address your tech. When we put the radius on the fretboard we put back bow in it (the truss rod is over tightened) when the desired radius is met we release the pressure from the rod and it returns to the exact curve we want. The neck is designed to never be straight. Your tech completely flattened the fretboard and wasnt happy with what he saw. That doesnt surprise me.

I will lock this now...good luck with what ever you end up with.
