got a call this week from from my music store. They said they hadn't placed the order for my guitar yet, but asked me to come down and look at an Axis that came in.

It was all boxed so we opened it up.

it was like opening a treasure chest of gold.
The sales reps that were there were amazed.
The quality is just fantastic

Trans gold with non book match top. top half is between flame and quilt and looks realy nice and the bottom is quilt and actually blends fairly nice with the top.
One sales rep comented that the pattern looks like waves.

Another comented about the size of the dot inlay - he liked it as they are not obtrusive.

myself, I have never even seen an axis up close as they are really rare here, but played a few pets and lukes at various stores here in vancouver

I like it overall. It feels nice in my hands and plays so smooth and has a nice tone.

I think I will get it to save the extra $500.00 and have something that looks original and unique.

Wahoo ! Pack-rat has a new guitar !

Hey pack-rat:

I'm from Canada too.But I'm from the Maritimes. I know your feeling because I just got my axis not a while ago. Almost all the players around here have never heard about Axis before,of course, never seen it before either.

I hear you, I'm in Nova Scotia... I always get asked questions about the Axis. Usually, "wow, is that one of those OLP's??" .... Then the slightly nonplussed expression when I say no, it's a Musicman. They're alway's like, "Musicman? never heard of it. Too bad, I heard those OLP's were awesome."

It's sad....

Hey Blackspy:

Yes,thats right. I have seen Fender Gibson around, but not Musicman, especially Axis.hehe. I dont know about OLPs,was told they are nothing but ****ty copies.

So we are the few musicman buddies in the Maritimes,uh?

Happy new year and enjoy your Axis.

BTW,mine is a honey burst Axis.

Last time I was in Saint John, NB, there was a little dealership I visited (forget the name, unfortunately) that had a couple of beautiful Axes and a bunch of other EBMM guitars... They seemed like nice guys for the hour or so I was bummin' around there. Anyone in the Maritimes looking for an Axis might want to look them up in a phone directory or something...
