I bought a Sterling by MusicMan last year. I really wanted to get a U.S. Ernie Ball HH StingRay, but they don't make them HH in left hand. So I got the SB MM and decided to add a second pickup (Bartolini). We replaced the stock bridge p/up as well after trouble wiring it for Series/Parallel ... and then the preamp wasn't handling it so well so that got replaced by Bartolini too. The guy in the shop commented that the stock preamp was good but not as good as the U.S. EB MM ones. The middle pickup is quite close to the bridge one, I wanted to put it in a P position ... despite being so close to each other, they produce 2 very different tones. So, I've got the new pickups, a volume knob for each, a Series/Parallel switch for each and 3 band EQ with switchable mid range. The new preamp has a LOT more juice than the stock. A lot of the work got done for free too, because the guy doing it didn't anticipate the problems that caused the bridge p/up to go and the new pre-amp. But most important of all, it sounds great.

very nice work. The only leftie ebmm bass available with HH configuration is a bongo. Not even a 2 band ray H. Interesting to see if SBMM offer the leftie ray as a 2 band now theyre doing a right handed classic 2 band.
