I own three Bongos and TWELVE pickguards.

For my Dargie 5H, I have the original b/w/b, abalone, and cream pearl.

For my white 5HS fretless, I have tort, orange swirl, and a newly acquired b/w/b.

For the sapphire black 5HH Bongo, I have black ice, white pearl, blue pearl, abalone, and b/r/b.

I even have an abalone for the 5HS that has been modified for when the BassMute lived on it as opposed to the sapphire black 5HH.

So, that's a 4:1 pickguard to bass ratio.

And, that's not even including the pickguards that I've gotten rid of (mint, orange acrylic, and tort of various models)....

Can anyone beat 4:1?

Here's the newest acquisition on the white fretless:

orange acrylic

I'm contemplating ordering one for my new white SR HH! Do you have any shots of the orange on white? Would love to see them...

Regarding that pickguard to bass ratio: When I actually get to order all the pickups I'd like to get on my white, it would exceed your 4:1

hehe.. 4 to 1 would be a tough one to beat :)

just be glad you aint got the same impulses for the basses themselves.. :D

No kidding. Three extra guards for each bass you already have is a hell of a lot cheaper than a new bass. On the sliding scale of addictions, this one's pretty innocuous Jason. No intervention necessary.
