My neck feels funny

Well not my neck, my StingRay's neck. It feels almost kind of damp and sticky and has felt that way for a while now. I tried leaving it out on a stand, then in its case with some silica gel, no improvement. I'm thinking maybe I need to put it in a room with a dehumidifier or sumthing. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thats probably what I'll try next, but I'll probably go with those 3M steel wool pads, less messy.

LOL no I always wash my hands b4 I play. It could be the humidity, but none of my other necks feel like that. Oh well, I'm just gonna leave it alone for a few days and if it doesnt feel better I may take some steel wool to it.

steel wool 0000 works alot better........

I don't remember who suggested this to me, but after using that steel wool, but a nice coat of gun-oil on it. You can buy a spray can of it at any local hardware or hunting store (Canadian Tire for all you Canucks). The gun oil puts a nice shine over the neck, giving it a perfect slide and also protects it from most humidity changes.

be sure to put masking tape over your pickups before using steel wool...and wipe off the iron filings that will collect on it before you remove it (or they'll just jump to the pickups)
