As someone that recently started playing EBMM basses again (yesterday!) after selling my old SR5, Bongo 5 and SUB 4 in the last few years, I must say how impressed I am with my brand new 2007LE Stingray.
I have been gigging mostly with both a Sadowsky NYC Jazz 4 and a 1974 Fender P with my cover band. I flip between basses at least 6 times a night as a P can't do funk, heavy slap and some of the newer tunes as well as a Jazz and a Jazz doesn't do reggae and '60s/'70s rock and blues as well as a Precision. This switching is a pain in the a$$.
Anyways, the band did a full volume rehearsal this afternoon with the new SR (single H, maple neck) and the band and I were blown away. Don't get me wrong, I still love my Fenders and my Sadowskys but for a bassist that plays RHCP, Led Zep, Foo Fighters, Bob Marley, The Stones, ZZ Top, Sublime, Doobie Brothers, Police, etc, etc, etc., in the same set, a SR is about as versitile a bass as I have played. It nails all the tones I need. My guitard said it best "amazing articulation and tonal range". I could hear every note from open E to wayyyyy up the neck on my G string.
So... will I be selling ALL of my non-EBMM basses? No (a few Fenders will go though). Will I be posting a pic of me playing the SR LE after my next gig? Yup!
Great workmanship too! Even the case rocks...
