Well thanks for all the helpful comments.....so far I haven't found a bum note on it...it sounds awesome. Will think deeply for a while....if only Axilla and I shared the same orientation we could swap........guess it's time to find out how much a goldtop would cost....anyone recommend a good European dealer?

I think the guitar is a stunner. However beauty is in the eye on the beholder. My ASS is half flame and have quilt and looks pretty "distinct", but the tone and playability is amazing so it is sticking with me.

Well it isn't going to get a refinish, and it isn't going to be sold to fund a new purchase. It's an awesomely good guitar and I'm playing better these last 2 days than ever before really can't seem to make a mistake on it. Finally I see what all you ASS lovers have been on about. For the moment going to have to live with the looks, but the feel & the sound are everything I've ever wanted in an electric guitar. Already planning on another purchase in a solid colour....anyone need a lefty PRS?????

I would suggest you keep it until you can find another one more to your liking, then compare both and you'll really see if you want to sell or not. Do not refinish, many will pay well for that guitar, being so rare and stunning.

Hopefully, you'll grow to love it....the Axis is one of the greatest guitars ever (even the backwards ones like yours that are made on Friday afternoons after happy hour)

Great idea about the boxes.

I understand what you mean about flame maple thing. I prefer the more conventional grain finishes like the rosewood Axis SS for example.................which I want badly - if it has a trem.

Even though the flame is not my favorite finish if I got a good deal on one I would have no problem whatsoever buying and enjoying it.

I like that shade of blue, and the matching HS with the maple FB looks great, IMO.
Nice axe.

BTW. You have a great variety of guitars, but your collection was crying out for a blue flamed ASS. It looks to fit in perfectly.

My shrink said the strain of looking at LH guitars was the trigger causing me to have psychotic "episodes", so Phatty has done me a favour with his LH=>RH switcheroo.

They're going to have to put me in a padded room when all the LH JP's start getting posted. .

I did comment on the nice top though - not that it matters with me on Andy's ignore list and all.
