My new EBMM JP6 and some questions

I finally bought my EBMM jp6 in a beautiful white finish no piezo (sorry no pictures i can't seem to be able to upload).
i just love this guitar and it's so great it cant be described in words. i want to thank you all for helping me find what i wanted.

i have some questions about the guitar and care.
1.when i change the strings on my jp6 how am i supposed to hold the bridge so it doesnt damage the finish? (i dont want to change string by string since i want to clean the fretboard)
2.how do i clean the back of the neck? it is unfinished and i dont want to sand it every time i get dirt in it. is there any kind of material that i could use on it after every time i play it?

there is a special gunstock oil that the neck is rubbed with from the factory...you could find this online and then use that on it. As far as cleaning the fretboard is concerned, I've never taken all the strings off my guitar at once before...it shouldnt be too hard to clean the fretboard and change the strings one at a time anyway. Maybe give that a shot?

thank you for your help i think i'll try cleaning the fretboard while restringing one by one. and i'll use the gunstock oil.

You only need to use gunstock oil like once a year tops!!! Just use wonder wipes to clean the fret board and neck.

so i should use the wonder wipes for the back of the neck as well as on the fretboard? because i thought its just a fretboard cleaner.

Yes. Wonderwipes back and front, no dramas.
The gunstock oil is not an every day/week/month thing. You do it when the neck is starting to get super played in and rough... I've had my BFR over twelve months and it is still not necassary.

for the holding the bridge thing, i do 3 strings at a time and still clean the fretboard. that way it still keeps some tension on the bridge and on the neck also. have done it like this for the last 2 years and hasnt failed me.

drgonzo about the threads you showed in your last reply the first one says something about changing the gunstock oil with the murphy soap so when i will need to use the wax on my neck which one should i use could you clarify it?
and about the last thread with the maple treatment they talk about fingerboards is it the same with the backs of the necks? wonder wipes and once the neck is dirty and needs it the oil/soap & wax treatment?

if you can please clarify those things and thanks again for your help

How do I clean and maintain my Music Man neck? | Music Man Guitars | F.A.Q.

Just use wonder wipes to clean/hydrate the fret board and the neck when ever you change strings or you think it needs it.

If, after an extended period of time you feel the neck is super dirty, you can use Murphy's Oil Soap (it's just a wood friendly soap), diluted 3:1, give it a bit of a scrub with a tooth brush and it'll clean up nicely -shouldn't need to do it often.

As per the FAQ "a very infrequent dose of gunstock oil will help to keep the neck maintained; we recommend Birchwood-Casey Tru-Oil, but any good quality gunstock oil will work. Use a small amount, leave it on for just 5 minutes, then it off with a paper towel. After that, apply Birchwood-Casey Gunstock Wax"

SO it's basically, wonder wipes from day to day. And once in a blue-moon when you feel it really really needs a clean, use the soap oil and then give it dash of gunstock oil and wax to restore the glory
