Ah man I think I have found a new love...I just got my new (well new for me) RARE :D Purple Silo S-S-S in. I cleaned her up, dropped the action right down and put on some Slinky 10's...and man is this guitar heaven on earth or what, not only is she smooth and fast but the tone...she sounds like she's orgasming...those single coils are hot...I think I may have to hunt down more...I mean honestly this is my first single coil experience and I am literally FLOORED. I will post pics tomorrow...I am having way too much fun...dang its 1:00 AM and I got to work in the AM...oh well!

I'm trying to remember a day when Raz DIDN'T buy a guitar

;)

Love the Purple color Raz. Just like my Luke.

The best description I ever heard for a great single coil sound was in a review of a prs custom 24 in the split position that described it as "ice water dripping"

Enjoy it.

Yes, the very same one...I can't believe the condition...the only indicator of her almost 9 years of life would be the fretwear (and slight grooves in the wire here and there)...other than that she's perfect...but I must say that I am completely blown away from the sound of those pups. I figured I was a humbucker man, being really the only pups I was ever exposed to....but now I may have to change my ways. There's no muffling of notes and/or chords...its just so damn bright, and although I have only tried a few settings on my V-amp, my Metal Planet was set on full, death-by-hanging-distortion, and those pups were quite noiseless, yet very, very responsive...

Well if anyone is thinking of selling a Silo with the S-S-S configuration, give me a shout, please :D

Thanks Keith. Yeah that is a great description. I find the singles much more focused, laser like if you will, ripping or squeezing their way through the chords and out the amp.

Raz - I have lost track - mind you - don't check this board for a couple of hours and you could miss your next guitar purchase - just how many do you have now?

Think there's a case of mistaken identity here ... Raz bought his off ebay a short while back- not the one from this week with the chip on the horn.

Damn if I don't love those purple Silos.

Oh yah that's the one that I thought it was.

You bought JuanGuitarz Axis Super Sport, cool. So Juan, what company wares are you sporting these days then. What has replaced the Axis SS, maybe a Glacier Blue Sparkle with Piezo, I knew it.

Hey Raz - EBMMs (I refuse to use Balls ) and other guitars.

OK as of today, Jan. 6/05 I have 4 EBMM's (2 Sub 1's and 2 Silo Specs). I also have a USA Peavey Wolfie Spec., a USA Wayne (Charvel) Custom 7 string and a
USA Washburn Sonic Speed Demon 7 string...and that's it, hopefully...honestly though if another S-S-S Silo turns up, or a 24 fret Silo...then I may have to whore it up!

7? - A guitar for every day of the week? You are a man of legend.

I do have a Silo 24 but we will never part company. She has a Floyd and a Sunburst finish.

I have to make do with 3 guitars - the Silo, a Strat, and a Ramirez classical.

> Man you're one smart cookie, Beej!

Nah, I just spend too much time tracking all of the available guitars out there ...

That is a pretty good stash you've got going, though! Myself I'm down to a Morse, Silo Special, Axis SS, Washburn N4 and home made strat (plus acoutstic, classical, and 50's Supro Archtop).
