Philip is 3 for 3!

Philip,

I love it, just like the others! This song actually evoked the themes from the other two songs at various times, which is really cool. If you put 'em all on an album someday, it'll be really cohesive.

I'm listening on a laptop thru tiny speakers, so maybe my ears are being fooled.. but I heard some chording in the clean part (esp somewhere around 1:10 to 1:50) where I thought maybe something clipped? It could just be multiple tracks that were playing in the same octave or something, too. I dunno, but something caught me off guard in there. Let me listen on better speakers sometime and see if I notice it again. Maybe you played some of the chords on the more gain-y lead channel and it just surprised me?

The progression + theme at the end is really triumphant!

When you get that album made.. I want one from the first batch! I'll pay extra! :)

Philip,

This is just phenomenal... I can't stop listening to that tune! Makes me wanna go down in the basement and lay down a bass line for it!

What's your drum machine/software? I like the ride cymbal on it.

thanks Steve! as for the drum machine I use Master Beat 2.0 , but I use collection of samples from all over the world;) but if you are interested in some particular sample let me know and I will email it to you.

As for this thing you were talking about I am not sure if I understood correctly but this clean theme is just one track on clean channel, and when the 'chorus' comes in I play on a slight distortion just to make difference between parts. As for the chords on acoustic guitar they are some minor add9 or add11 so sometimes they may sound strange. As for the bass there is a bass guitar there, from guitar pro, but very very simple:eek: and in that final theme I've added keyboard pads so it could sound like Vangelis;) :p

thanks for listening guys!!

I'm always very impressed when I here your music! :)

+1
The soaring melody after 3:35 is tasty and the whole tune puts me in mind of a soundtrack to a movie. Thanks for sharing!

wow! Janice, Pundix and jbert thank you for very kind words on the song :)

actually my playing is very sloppy at times, but thanks to delay and reverb that they cover it up a bit  :p (you wouldn't like to hear how many times I tried to improvise that heavy solo, but it surely was a two-digit number :D )

thanks again!!!

cheers,

Philip

Philip,

Yeah, after several listens, I decided that I was hearing the overdriven track on top of the clean tracks.

Great, great job man! Now get back to recording so I can hear some more! :)
