and last but not least THE OC! :D

How in the world did I leave you off that list?!?!?

OC, where are you sitting at the Jones Beach show? I'll be in section 5L row P. Right now I have one extra ticket (I have seats 5,6 and 7) because my bud had to drop out so it's me and my nephew.

If you know anyone who needs a ticket, let me know.

Thanks.

Hey Louis! Whats up? Glad you are liking the guitar..I did the same thing to OC's that I did for yours.

Jon

Yeah I think anyone that has this done to their EBMM guitar is going to be very pleased.

Will do...

Is that in the Mezz? Because if so, I'm somewhere in the first level of the Mezz center stage right above the walkway.

I guess I should qualify what I said about the set-up Jon did on my guitar. I had sent my JP in for some repairs and Jon said that he would set up the guitar and seal the neck for me, and I believe the frets were also redressed too. I agreed to have the neck sealed due to the humidity here in Florida. The set-up was absolutely perfect. I have to admit though that I wasn't crazy about the neck seal, even though Jon did a great job on it. I liked the unfinished feel of the neck. I ended up sanding the neck (very lightly and carefully) with some very fine sandpaper, and then used Birchwood-Casey oil on the neck in order to get the unfinished feel back. The neck now has that unfinished feel back to it. I hope you're not mad at me Jon, I'm not knocking the neck seal at all, it's an individual thing, and it just wasn't for me. The set-up and fret redress you did though was phenomenal, as I said earlier the guitar plays really smooth. I just wanted to say that people who like the unfinished feel may not like the neck seal.

Louis...Understood, and I ain't mad atcha(I think Tupac said that), but I want to stress that I can make an oil and wax neck feel like it's finished by using 1200 grit paper before i wax it. If OC plays his guitar long enough it will start to feel like the un-sealed neck...BTW, If I have to do a fret leveling, it will cost more than the $40.00 for the neck seal....Anyway, Louis, it's good to hear from you! Take care.

Jon,

1200 grit after Tru-Oil? And I'm guessing if that be the case, ever so gingerly. Need to setup my PRB w/ a neck oiling soon. I just tossed some 11's on her today and tweaked the action and the neck and it's pretty close to the DG w/ a small touch of buzz (the bottom half of a Beefy Set), but it's really inaudible.

So essentially what we're getting at here is that eventually your sealing treatment wears away w/ handling and needs to be repeated. I'm also under the impression that oiling and waxing it would still be a good idea.

Man I love me some EBMM's.

Late!

I don't use oil after I seal it. Just sanding it with 1200 grit, then waxing it. I really wouldn't use oil on it now unless the neck gets really lumpy, then i would put oil on it, and sand the oil in...While the neck has oil on it, do some wet sanding on it

Jon, just want to be clear on what I want done to my guitar: Seal the neck and get my action to 1/32" at the 12th fret. If getting the action to that height requires a fret level and is more than the $40 you quoted me, just let me know what it is. You can PM me if you would rather do that.

Thanks!

Dave

BTW, OC, how did you like the feel of the sealed neck versus the unsealed neck?

To me it's pretty close factory fresh, or when you apply new oil/wax. it just stays that way longer. my prb needs the oil wax hook up pronto. I found a gun shop tonight that I never knew existed so I need to take a ride over there and grab some Birchwood Casey stuff.

Yup, UPS. I've been tracking it of course. It was scheduled for delivery today but it's status is still "In Transit".

Thanks, Jon.

The Eagle has landed. Jon has my PRB and is doing his thing. I feel so relieved just to know the guitar got to him in one piece!!
