I am not the biggest Floyd fan either..., However, I just had to go for it anyway.....Once I get familiar with it's maintenance, I am sure it won't be that difficult..!!!

1st electric that wasn't a Strat that I bought was an Axis with Floyd. I remember my first neck cleaning and string change like it was yesterday. It was eye opening and frustrating to say the least. After going thru the process a couple of times I started to get the hang of it, but I can't say it ever got to the "breeze" stage. The key for me was blocking the Floyd with a deck of cards during maintenance.

That top really does suck! You should let me dispose of it accordigly.
At least on the upside of the Axis floyd being dive only, it's not as much of a nuisance as a floating one.

Thanks James......I had a kahler Tremelo in the 80's...on a flying V.....that was floating.....I hear that it is not that bad......!!

that is a freaking beautiful top. the more i see of the pinks the less i want a green! there is just something about the shape of the axis and the pink that is damn sexy
