I would like to thank everyone who attended the clinic and helped make it as wonderful and special as it was.

I would like to extend a special thanks to:

Sterling Ball; Steve Porter; Dan McPherson; Derek Brooks; and Mr. John Petrucci for allowing this day to happen.

Ed, Donna, and Nick DuBaldo - my family, I couldn't have done this without all your help
Ernie & Lisa - they came up the night before and helped the load-in/out & chair setup
Paul Secondino - Amp tech who helped get the Recto head to work.
Rick - loaned his recto head to Paul for this event
Loaf - for regulating
Yeah Yeah Entertainment LLC - for donation of the PA and their time
George Boulton - for setting up a tripod and taking tons of still pics for us.
Town of Manchester - (if you were at the clinic you know why)
Jason and Carlos - these two camped out in the parking lot of the store at 2am the night before so they could be first in line, but they nearly froze to death.

Also, I'd like to thank all the forum members who showed up, some of whom I was meeting for the first time - Glenn, mbgreene, cudbucket, adambilz, MikeVT, Lou Miano, ernie1966, roubuster, and of course OrangeChannel! Did I mention everyone?

Thanks for getting this going. I've always wanted to meet John and he's a very cool guy. I wish I could have chatted with you longer Pete, but you were under a lot of stress! You were like a caged animal, LOL. (gotta get to soundcheck). I'm sure that normally you are more laid back. Your dad and mom (I think it was your mom) as well as the rest of the employees were very kind and good people. I had fun chatting with a few folks.

Also like to drop in my thanks to Mssrs. DuBaldo and Petrucci for setting the whole thing up and puting on a great clinic. Even Pete's Mom and Dad were around passing out cookies and making sure every felt at-home comfortable. Nick DuBaldo was there too, in the background as usual (because we all know that Nick is the true brains of the DuBaldo operation and just props Pete up as the pretty-boy front man)

Since most everyone else has already chimed in in the other thread, I'd also add it was good to see several people again - Ernie, Glen, MikeVT and finally meet some others like OC and Dave. And if anynoe does't want their day-glow Greene T-shirts I'll be more than happy to accept them as a donation.

When I got home I didn't know whether to practice or smash my guitars. Then I remembered that John said just add some vibrato, a little delay, some distortion and a bit of whaa and what sounds like this (four bars of a simple mixolydian melody line played strait, which I could handle) can then sound like this (Full out version of Glasgow Kiss) - yet somehow mine wasn't quite right  - I think I'll blame my pedals  ;)

I also tried to get a few pointers from Al DiMeola's friend since I was sitting next to him, but I couldn't quite comprehend the answer.

Good Times were had by all.

He had me fooled.. I thought he was just a cereal killer. (Which would explain why he's so darned skinny!)

Pete, it was a great day.

I would also like to thank one of the guys in the lime-green t-shirts for letting me pee in the employee bathroom. I got to drain while I was staring at a Garth Brooks poster. I don't know why, but if felt great.

Dave

PS

Did I mention that the guitar JP said is his "main" guitar...

Is Pearl Redburst?

:)

He tried to kill me with Frosted Flakes!

I thought that was an MD...then again I watched from the side...and my eyes aren't what they used to be...

Dave, the guitar he played yesterday was a Mystic Dream, and he said it was the first one they made. Not sure if you maybe mean that his main guitar is Pearl Redburst, even though he played a Mystic Dream?

Yeah that poster of Garth is cool. Did you see the Nigel Tufnel poster on the ceiling right next to the JPs ?

It was just an AWESOME day from start to finish, and the Dubaldo family is just awesome as well. Me and my friend were baffled how nice everyone was including Mr. Petrucci of course. It was a beautiful day and it was a fine trip from NYC, plus we did NOT get lost which is good, and Manchester is a beautiful little town which me and my friend did not want to leave. I took many pictures, and I'll put some up once I get them from the camera onto PC and such. The other surprise that does not have to do with the clinic was the Morse Y2D geetar. That thing is FREAKIN HEAVY. Probably the heaviest guitar I have held in my hand, but I LOVE it a lot!!!

Really? That's strange, because I was comparing the Y2D to all the other ones weight wise, and it really seemed much heavier. Even my friend said the same thing, and said that his LP was a feather in comparison. But anyway, the Y2D is probably the next one on the list :).

Thank you...

Pete...

Thank you for making the clinic possible and having all of us. It was worth the litte 4.5 hour road trip from South Jersey! Especially JP signing my EBMM JP6 Carbon Blue back Plate along with a photo of us and my guitar.

I ended up with over 200 pics. Though most are the same as we ended up not being in the ideal position (slightly to his left), but didn't want to get in anyone elses way by moving. I shot a few multiple burst series of various shots of him playing. They should look good as one those chezzy little web animations. :)

I will have all the photos up to you tomorrow and will work on touching up a few choice ones over the next few days.

Anyone going to the NY show on Sat. chime in and maybe we can all hookup right before the show for drink or something!

Can't wait to finish the web site!

thx...

My nephew Anthony and I are going on Saturday. He was with me yesterday.

Wow, I've played the Morse Y2D and found it to be light and comfy. My Egress feels way heavier.
