Jazzbassman23 said:No offense intended, but when you come onto a manufacturers site and complain about the sound of one of their basses AFTER it's been modified with an after-market pickup, then I have to question the intentions of the original poster. I mean, really, it seems to me he ought to post on Seymour Duncan's website and complain about the pickup's B-string response.

Thanks for all your responses. For those offended by the title of my thread I apologise for polluting the integrity of this board with slander if that's how you feel, it was only a mere cry for help or attention getter.....which goal was acheivedI really didn't expect the PC police to book me a ticket over it...
I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this problem and get people's opinions before I start planning more drastic measures. I really love this bass but have had some problems with it, such as this and a cracking polyester problem.....which I find really discouraging.
Customer service would be an international phone call, why would I resort to that as first option? Here I can get a conglomeration of people's thoughts and experiences and surface an otherwise unknown problem
I feel it probably IS the pickup at the root of the problem.
Yes I did get it fitted, the thing is I have the pickup mounted quite low because otherwise it distorts too much.
The Fernandes Gravity I own is no ordinary one, for starters its fretless, 40TW & 40DC pups, 18v upgrade + EMG BQS System.
So the next step is to take it to my luthier and get his opinion, will post the outcome...
bassmonkeee said:the 40TW and 40DC pickups are made by EMG--so, it makes sense that they work fine with the EMG preamp. So, what that bass does is irrelevant.
