Thanks for all the replies and the warm welcome. Not bad for my first post.......:)

I bet each of you have a EBMM story that would be fun to hear too........I say post em up, unless they are already here somewhere.....

I remember way back when I first played an EVH it was the nicest guitar I had ever played. At the time I couldn't have afforded it nor did I have the chops to deserve a guitar like that anyway...

6 years later I was able to afford it (but maybe didn't have the chops) and got an Axis.......played just as good as I remember.

I had played an EVH around that time too, not sure what it was but the Axis was a much nicer player......

OK, who's story is next ????

Welcome, Mike! Great story.

I remember playing my first Ball in the early 90s. As soon as I picked it up I became a better player. I also became addicted ... ever since then nothing but a Ball will do.

Cabernet Pearl and Rosewood. Where have I seen that combination before? :D Seriously though, Lukes are just fantastic.

Welcome to the forums, Mike! That's an awesome story and a great guitar. You should get a print of that photo with Steve Lukather and keep it in the case with your guitar.

Nice story.

Hate to be the one to tell you this, but for an extra $5 Luke would've humped your leg.

Live and learn

Thanks for the tip, I am pretty happy with the deal I got as it stands.........

Now I have to ask, how did you find that out????? (Just kidding).......:D

I hear ya.

When I was hanging out with Steve Lukather in the Guitar room, I bet I could have sat there had more laughs and listened to his stories all night long (some of them may even had been true.....)

He's got a good sense of humour and I bet is fun to be around.......

Well, not much of a story, really. I did a poll not too long ago asking the other forumites what they thought my next guitar should be. There were 4 choices, 25th Anniversary, SMY2D, Silo, or ASS. There was a pretty overwhelming advantage to the 25th in that poll, but the SMY2D was second. Just today I paid the remaining balance on my new 25th which I probably won't see for another month. The estimated build date is 6/26.

From what I hear of the 25th, it's worth the wait. And by the time I get it, I should have the money saved for my next guitar which after a bit of debate might not be what I originally planned. Maybe I should do another poll...

I will definitely post pics of the 25th when I get it.

You will like that 25th anniversery guitar. I am already taking some of the comments seriously about that Jackson PC1......

I wonder if they would take it "even Steven" trade for the 25th Anniv one???

It's a killer guitar. Good thing I hadn't plugged it in, otherwise I would have had it too.....and go even deeper into the hole.....

When I met BP at the Hollywood Clinic, he remembered my screen name and the axe I purchased.

Figure that! How many CEO's do you know would do that for their customers?

Very few. I also went to the San Jose / Santa Clara GC clinic also, and was blown away that both BP and Scott remembered me (I hardly ever post). And the clinic itself was wonderful, insightful, irreverent (thanks Luke!), and humbling -- yeah man, those guys can really play.

I took my brother-in-law (a late-in-life newbie guitar player) with me, and I must say that both BP and Mr. Morse made a very positive impression on him. I'm pretty sure that there's a 25th in his future (I called Pete about it this morning).

I was hoping to get the standard Knucklehead finders fee for bringing my b-in-law on board, but I didn't really do anything. The guitar and MM organization did it all.

Strange twise of fate....

Hello All,

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I have an update to this story that I think you might get a kick out of.....

Previously in this thread I had mentioned that I had bought a Jackson PC1 two days before getting my RW Luke and other members were saying that I should give it up for another EBMM.

I won't go into details but Guitar Center messed up and I still haven't gotten my guitar 2 weeks later (even though the guitar was sitting at another GC).

So I went in to clear things up and spoke to one of the managers there and said I was slightly miffed and what my options were. One of my options was to walk away entirely........he said he didn't want that.

He said he would bring in the guitar expedited overnight if he had to. But then I put something on the table too....

There was a Rosewood Neck JP6 hanging there that I sort of liked......so I said I might be interested in that if the deal is good enough.......

He brought it down and I played it, he said he would go "see what he can do".

He came back with a good enough deal and now I am the proud owner of a
White RW JP6........

Will this Rosewood Neck madness ever end????????
