Welcome and congrats, cfo. It's always great to read about someone's first love affair with a Musicman instrument. I remember mine, it was the spring of 2000 and there was this gorgeous candy red Stingray calling my name. Ah, I can still smell her.

And just last night, for the first time ever, I played a Sterling. Now, just so you know, I am a die hard Stingray fan. I only have two, and they are unbelievable instruments. But that Sterling neck. That wonderfully thin, fast neck. Now what the heck am I going to do?

Finally, a word of warning. There are many here (we call them bongoloids) who will ply you with their mind rays and mind blowing tones. The end result is something known as GAS, which, ultimately, is relieved by the simple swiping of your American Express.

Good luck and hang on buddy. This is an E ticket ride.

I've been playing pbass exclusively for years. It's the first one someone handed to me so I went with it. Had to take it in this weekend for some repair work and thought I'd try something else.

Ended up leaving the store with an unfixed pbass and new Sterling. I liked the Stingray too but the Sterling felt so good to play. I enjoyed the tones you could get with the pickup selector. It was great and I couldn't leave without it.

I can't wait to play this weekend to hear how it sounds in the mix.

Bravo!! You have just started coming to your senses. It will finish with Stingray, eventually.

Got to play with the band this weekend and we had a great set and I loved the way the Sterling played. We use in-ear monitors so it's hard to tell what it sounds like in the house.

When I got there everyone stopped and said, "wow is that a new bass?" Our electric guitarist jumped on it immediately and was raving about some of the technical details that I didn't even know about.

I'm using a programmable sansamp so I will need to do a little tweaking to my fat tube and SVT settings. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
