My Silhouette neck is twisted or ??
I am playing MM Silhouette. I have a question about neck.
I also have Fender Strat. Unlike my Strat, MM Sil neck head is a little bit slant. Specially when I am looking forward from body to head, head is slant to left direction.
So I like to know that this is a Silhouette neck shape or my neck is twisted.

Eyeballing a twisted neck isn't really all that easy... Lots of things can come into play to create an illusion of a twist where none exists. Alternatively, a neck may have a slight twist in it that has no effect whatsoever on playability... No one on the Internet can tell you if your neck is twisted or not with any certainty. Take it to a guitar repair person if you want an accurate assesment.

I take my guitar to repair person...

Today I take my guitar to repair person, and he said my guitar neck has a slight twist and he think it is a normal condition. I like to know what mainly causes neck twist, and how to care it to prevent twist.

thanks

Necks are made of wood. Wood is not the most stable of building materials. Any neck can twist. Music Man necks, because of the finish type employed, may be more suseptible to environmental extremes that could antagonize a twist, but I live in Canada, and none of my necks are twisted... Mostly, I think it's a behaviour of the wood, inherent in its structure, and no matter how carefully you select your wood and cut it, there's always going to be a few pieces from any given batch that decide they need to twist as they age (dry). Not much you can do about it unless you want to buy a Parker Fly; you can care for your necks as well as anyone, and they'll still twist if it's in them to do so...
