My Silo Special's pickguard is warped!

OK, I had this stored inside the house in a closet for about 8 years. I loaded up a few pickguards with different pickups/switching etc, and would switch them easily via the snap-on connector whenever I wanted a new sound (still think this is a great idea- EB should make all kinds of switchable pickguards). This one, is the original-and the only one that warped like this-, with the silent circuit. Now, I am going to try to un-warpify this trying a method I saw on YouTube, which involves low heat and heavy books. Either way, if it doesn't work, I will have to get a new one anyway.

My question is that the Silent Circuit dummy coil is affixed to the back of the pickguard with some sort of adhesive. Obviously, I will strip the pickguard down before applying heat, but I didn't want to hurt the silent circuit. Will removing it damage it? And, what is the best way to re-affix it on the new un-warped guard (or new one)?

Some kind of double-sided sticky tape or adhesive foam pad jobbies will do the job nicely.

I removed the silent circuit can by sliding a blunt object under it, a pic or credit card should do it. It was stuck if my memory is correct using a double sided sticky pad so you will be fine.

I hope your remedy works - how about taking some before and after shots you could show us?

Yep, it is just held on with a double-sided sticky tape/pad.

If you use caution you can scrape it off with an old blade or similar tool (butter knife would work).

Before you try to un-warp it, perhaps give it a go on the body first? It'll be held flush by the screws and might sit fine.

Wouldn't just screwing it down into the guitar cavity reduce the warpage over time?

Well, it is bowl-shaped now, so the screws don't line up. If I had kept it on the body, I am sure the screws would have kept it straight, but since it was stored with a few other pickguards (that didn't warp), the weight of the electronics sort of bowlified it.

Here is the pic with it resting in the body cavity. The neck pocket is flush with the body, but you can see how bad it has warped.
