So here's the story. I sold my green EVH to a great guy on the forums after much negotiating. So, he got the guitar and wasn't happy with the top. It turns out that a LONG time ago, I must have tried to polish it with something abrasive. Anyway, it left sort-of a cloudy haze on the top. I always thought it was my inability to polish, but evidently, I did something way back when.

We emailed customer service about having the top rebuffed, but they said their buffing machines would eat right through these old tops. We were told by several that hand buffing it would be the way to go. Naturally, the buyer was hesitant to do any of this so I gave him a refund because I totally understood where he was coming from, seeing as how he paid alot and it wasn't quite what he hoped for. No hard feelings.

We shipped the guitar to someone to have it hand buffed and I got it back on Friday. I must say that it looks alot better. It's not perfect, but it the cloud seems to be gone for the most part. As many of you remember, I had 1-1-3-8 on the top of my guitar. There is still a very faint echo of those numbers on the top. You would never see it at a natural glance (or in any pictures), but if you hold it up to the light, you can sort of make it out.

So, long story short, I have a 'new' guitar. It looks better than my old one. What do you guys think?
