Hey i just got a stingray 4 and im wondering how hard is it to remove the pickguard im thinking about doin this because theres a nasty stain on it and i think no pickguard would look cool as long as there is the solid wood beneath it which leads me to another quesiton is it wood underneath? or a gaping hole

sorry if this is a stupid Q

EDIT : btw im new to the forum and this is my first sitngray :S

Unscrewing the pickguard is easy. Just remove the screws and lift the guard. ;) There is wood underneath it (single humbucker). If you have dual humbuckers, or hum/single, there is a phantom coil hidden underneath the pickguard.
