Frankly, it doesn't matter, since you also don't have the original pickup (right?)... a StingRay only really sounds like a StingRay with their original pickup and preamp in it. After all, that's the components (except for the bridge) that really set them apart from their predecessors.

I can't believe it!!....so if you have some problem with your EBMM you can't replace it with the original one??.....this politicy is quite strange, isn't it??

As has been mentioned, the replacement policy is one-for-one. If you have a dead EBMM preamp, you can send that in and (if the warranty is expired) purchase a new one. This is a product integrity issue; you need only look at Fender (or Britney Spears) to see what happens when you lose control of your parts.

I would talk to the original owner about what happened to the original electronics. If that fails....well, Seymour Duncan or a new Delano preamp might be your best bet.

Thank you very much.
It's impossible to recovery the original preamp or pickup, and the relation with the previous owner are difficult since this event as you can understand :(
What do you think about the john east MM preamp??....is better than the Delano or Seymor Duncan ones??....they said that is very similar to the pre-EB one.....
Thanks a lot.

If the Delano preamp is really dead go with the Seymour Duncan or the East, both should sound close to the original, not the same but close enuff to be happy IMO.

If your broken preamp is a Delano, maybe contact Delano and see if they can repair your existing preamp? They may not do it under warranty, but they may offer you a reasonable repair fee or an exchange of your old one. I don't know that they will do this, but I think your situation warrants asking them.
