Congrats.

I have the same bass but a 4 string. I grab it more than my Bongo or Warwick. Great bass. You will love it.:)

I hope it makes it there in one piece. It's raining cats and dogs here.

Unfortunately, after reading about the tornado that hit the school in Enterprise, hunks of wood and metal just don't seem all that important right now. :(

So true! Yeah, the storm blew through here around 5:00 this evening. Some flooding and minor damage but we're doing pretty good up here. We're pretty WX aware since 1989. Stay safe and dry, y'all!

The SUB 5's are great. I've got a cinnamon active 2-band, and I use it more than my Bongo 5 or SR5. Right now, anyway...

Very cool! I used to have a '94 SR4 and stupidly got rid of it! But, my... uhm... 4-string in my screen name... handles those tasks pretty well and I want an EBMM 5ver. Just a 5 string Stingray, you know? Well, enter the SUB5 and I'm sure I'll be happy as a clam! Well... I do really want a 20th SR5 or a Bongo5! But, when cash flow is better! :)

BTW, can anyone tell me what the difference in sound is between the passive and active versions? Well, besides the obvious boost in signal?

The Passive P/U for the SUB was specially designed for the SUB line. I have recently dubbed the pickup "Passive/Aggressive!" It is extremely hot and punchy. I am not sure of the frequency ranges and responses...but in non-tech speak, there is alot of upper mid present. This makes it cut through real nice. I roll off the treble a tad, push my preamp a touch, and get a really nice growl out it. You will love the lows....I drop D occaisionally, and it is just mean!! I can only imagine what the B would sound like. Enjoy!

Excellent! I'm accustomed to and already set up for hot pickups. (If there were ever a hot pickup, it's an MFD!) So, it sounds like it'll fit like a glove! :)

"Out for Delivery!" Come on, come on, come on!!!! :D

Is it a white SUB5 with a diamond plate pickguard? If it is I think I A/Bed it when I picked up my passive SUB5 from Casa DuBaldo last year. It was definitely a great bass, I would've brought that one home if the red one with black pickguard wasn't calling my name (both basses played extremely well).

Congrats on your new bass! :D

Well, it's here! Very nice instrument! It astounds me that EB was selling these at the price point they were! Talk about a lot of instrument for the dollar! WOW! The sound is exactly what I am looking for. Punchy, full and crisp!

Hey... does EB have other pickguards for these? I'd like a nice tort or abalone. Probably have to go aftermarket, but thought I'd axe here first! :D

I bleeb the only other option from EB/MM is a matte black, which would look quite nice on a White SUB!

Thanks Jon! Hey, is the matte black thin like the diamond-plate or like a regular single ply PG? Yeah, I was hoping this one would have the black but, I love the bass and figured I could change the PG later. :)

From what I remember, the black pickguards are the same thickness / quality as the diamond-plate pickguard. What a great bass though! Like you I couldn't believe what I got for the price I paid. :D

The black pickguards are not thin like the diamond plate. They are the same thickness as a black/White/black pickguard(for instance)
