As a young teen I idolized Robin Trower, listened to Hendrix, and came to love everything -Stratocaster-.

Finally, after a couple of years of going to Paulus Music (Jax) and staring at Strats, my dad cut a deal with Freddie Paulus and brought home the ugliest Strat I had ever seen - Mocha Brown! Uggh, the true meaning of LOVE/HATE. It was 1976 ... I was tremendously grateful and kept my disdain for the color to myself.

40-ish years later I ended up with about 10 Strats - somewhat ridiculous. Plus a few Teles, LP, ES339, etc.

About 2 years ago I read some fellow raving about a Music Man Albert Lee, and how it out-Strats a Strat AND out-Teles a Tele. I thought - I must try this - and perhaps I must possess one!

Now I am down to 3 Strats and 2 Teles, and no Gibsons, but I have 4 Albert Lees! Two SSS and two HH (one of each is hard tail). I could not be happier!!!

What is your testimony??? How did you come to love EBMM guitars???

At my guitar store, they had this JP6 Starry Night PDN Exclusive Limited Edition with matching head stock. It was one of those guitars where I played it and had to have it.

Less than six weeks later, I was out of town for my sister's funeral. Stopped at a guitar store after and saw their St. Vincent in the original St. Vincent Blue. Played it, liked it, and put it back. Someone else picked it up, and it felt like they played MY guitar without permission, so I bought it.

I have too many guitars, and only 2 EBMM guitars. They get played weekly. Others, not so much.

Photos of both are in this album.

I bought one of the first Petrucci's kind of on impulse. Pre compensated nut. Headstock color doesn't match body, no piezo.

At the time my main axe was an Ibanez RG3120. I was in a metal phase and a hack compared to what I am now in terms of tone and chops.

I was brought into the the studio to play guitar on a friends album. Couldn't quite get the tone out of the RG that I wanted, switched to the Petrucci and we used it for most of my leads on the record.

BUT I really didn't get sick about it until my wife bought me a 25th Anniversary as a retirement gift. That broke the damn.

Now I have an Armada, Y2D, Gamechanger and a Stingray bass. I couldn't gig without the Gamechanger.

I still have the RG3120. It's my only locking nut guitar so I keep it around for that kind of thing. It's a great player but the tone is so much thinner than any of my EBMMs. Really only use it for very specific stuff in the studio.

Had them all. Had many of each.

While I stumbled on my first Al, I had a strat Eric Johnson, a Tele 52 butterscotch, a Tom Anderson Hollow Drop Top full option, a "high end" Les paul Classic Premium Plus, and a Parker Fly Supreme... So I could cover a lot of grounds.

I no longer own any of these and have no regret. My PDN 2014 sounds so good, (and keeps improving), is so beautifull and comfortable that I wouldn't trade this single one for all these great guitars. I'm much happier now than I ever was.

Thanks MM.

PS
I should be kicked in the nuts, on a daily basis, for selling my luke III Olive Gold HSS

It's always fun when old farts look down at you because your guitar isn't a Fender or a Gibson. If only they knew...

I too was smitten by the Albert Lee.

Ironically was always a Les Paul man - bought it new in 73 for £285 !! - still have it.

I always fancied a strat or a tele and in the naughties decided to play more after giving up for a long time - ended up playing an AL .. and the rest is history ... I became a huge EB fan - still am - as evidenced by the time I've spent on here!!!

I'm in my 50s. Like many, I was a huge EVH fan. Music Man was not on my radar, but when EBMM came out with the EVH model, I had to try one. I was hooked. It took a few years before I could afford one. That led to Silhouettes, Axes, then a Morse, Lee, Luke, and JP. I didn't buy any more EBMMs for a few years. Then the 25th Anniversary guitars came out ... one of those, several basses including my beloved Sterling, more JPs and Lukes. Recently, it has been an Armada, 3 Majesties, and a Valentine. I'm not done yet.

I, too, was a Strat guy in my youth, largely because of the HM Super Strat line in the late '80s, early '90s, but there were always lots of other guitars that I wanted, and I was game for trying anything that came into one of the local stores.

In the late 1990s, I walked into one of those stores, and there was a Peavey Wolfgang sitting there. Now, I know it may seem like sacrilege, but I've never been a huge EVH fan. I liked Roth-era VH, but never worshipped at the altar of Eddie like many of my other guitar-playing friends. I loved that guitar, though. Thought it was one of the most comfortable I've ever held and, though it was well out of my price range (which was basically nothing) at the time, I decided I'd own one some day.

Fast forward about eight or nine years. I'm in a little bit better place financially, and I've decided that I'm finally going to set aside my pawn shop axes and buy a good guitar. This was right around the time the Wolfgang had been discontinued, but I didn't know that. I marched back into that store, ready to walk out with one, only to find that they'd sold their last one a couple of weeks before, and they weren't making them anymore.

The salesman first put an OLP JP in my hands, which I liked, but wasn't that wild about. Then he pulled down a silver Axis Sport from the wall and told me that was the closest thing he had to the Wolfgang. I wasn't very familiar with Music Man instruments, but that neck was love at first feel. I played it for a long time, but ultimately walked out of the shop without it. It was at the top of my price range, and it was equipped with MM90s, which as a metal guy, were not what I was looking for. I wish now that I'd bought it, but the rest of the story probably wouldn't be the same.

I settled for an OLP MM1F in natural, which was a great guitar -- another I wish I hadn't parted with, actually. I know some people had some issues with those, but I got a good one. I played it for a couple of years, things took a bit of a downturn for me, and I ended up going back to school to finish my degree, still searching for "the one" guitar I couldn't afford.

I finished up my degree in 2007, and my wife, unbeknownst to me at the time, wanted to buy me the guitar that I've always wanted as a combination Christmas/graduation gift. Now the guitar that I really wanted was a Pacific Blue Burst Axis, but I knew there was no way we could afford it, so I was settling toward a nice Strat, which was sub-1K. We still couldn't afford it, but it was an easier goal. I kept waffling on it, then Christmas rolled around, and I woke up that morning to a surprise. My wife had special-ordered me that PBB Axis, and it was love at first sight. Even though things have been on an upswing for the last several years, and I've got a stable of nice guitars now, that one remains my baby.

As you can see from my gear, I'm not truly a one-brand guy, but my wish list for new guitars is almost exclusively EBMM.

I’ve been a HUUUUUGE Morse fan since 1978’s “What If” album - but never tried to copy his gear because he was light years beyond my ability.

About ten years ago I got pretty serious about guitar, ratcheted up my ability and started building out my stable from the couple cheap pieces of junk that I had up until then - several LPs, several Strats, numerous other guitars..

Finally picked up a Morse and quickly came to the realization that I don’t need all of those guitars when a Morse will cover the entire sonic spectrum for me.

Now I just like having one in every color that skittles comes in! :)

I have been playing EBMM guitars for a bit over 10 years now, making my first purchase sometime in 2007.

At the time I had been playing primarily Strat's for years. I think at the time I owned 4 as well as a Tele and I believe an SG Standard.

I had a keen interest in MM after playing a couple different Luke's at Guitar Center previously, and recall really liking the feel of the neck, but really didn't know much about them at all. I didn't purchase either because I didn't have the money at the time.

So a chance visit to Guitar Center in Columbus revealed a used Trans Red Axis Hardtail (not a Super sport) and it was on weekend used gear sale for $799 no case. Again, I had no clue that they weren't all that common, I just know the price was doable and that red finish and white binding sure spoke to me. So I carried that guitar throughout the store thinking "this one isn't getting away from me" while I waited for blessing from my wife.

Soon afterwards #2 - a Candy Red Silo Special, and #3 a Blue Pearl Silo and I can't remember from there while the Fender's and Gibson were sold off to fund my new obsession.

I have had other EBMM guitars come and go for various reasons, but I currently own 9 (see sig) and play them exclusively and couldn't be happier with what I have.
