By the way amazinlhy the bass was in tune when I opened the case and the neck action is perfect, I don't have any means of plugging it in until tomorrow bit acoustically it sound frigging gorgeous and there's no buzz, I love it

Wow, that's a helluva job you have there. Must be nice not being tied to a cubicle/desk, as I am all day!!

I had a nice 20 min break at the piliot station, at anchor awaiting pilot boat...

So I nipped down to my cabin to have another quick look at the new born baby, and I took a couple of shots next to something you would never see in my cabin in any time of the year as I don't drink, however with the Xmas spirit in mind, I had promised everyone on board that to celebrate the New Bass Day I would buy them all a nice 6 pack each but instead I ended up with a few more than I needed at the cash and carry in Calais, (they were really givin' em away there, cheap as chips ;) )

Right... another break and it's 1:00 am. I am still only able to try it unplugged but it's a joy to play none-the-less,.

I am impressed again that it's so perfect right out of the box. It only needs to climatize to the warmth of my home when I'll get there eventually. At the moment it's cold, when you pick it up from the case if feels like you have picked up a large icicle. But I can say this, I have never seen such a straight and perfect neck, also I don't have a strap here and I am playing it sitting down on a couch and I am loving how balanced the whole bass is, so perfectly it stays on your knee.

Also I have just realized that this particular body shape with the rounded upper horn, has it's very clever praticality, if you own a Stingray, a Sterling, a Bongo or infact any traditional bass with the extended upper horn you will notice that when you recline your back on a sofa you'll often find the top body horn somehow digging into your chest plate, but with this type of rounded top horn there is nothing in the way and that I think it's a nice touch, a bit like sitting outside on your porch on a recliner chair with an acoustic guitar on your belly plucking away without a care in the world... bliss!

The neck is fast and it definately has that exact same Bongo 5 feel to it, there's no doubt about it. The frets are perfectly shaped and finely edged, these are not obstacles, but more like piano keys to slide over and press, they make any fast run, an easy job even for amateurs like me.

If Santana compared his PRS to a Maserati, then this 25th Anniversary is a Ferrari and will leave the Masi for dust any day of the week.

Well that is enough of my yakking, those who have one will know exactly what I mean about what it feels like to play on of these babies. Those who have never tried one, I suggest you give them a try, but I warn you, once you try you gotta have it, as this bass in my views represents the quintessential highlight of all the best thing from all the instruments ever made not just by EB but any boutique, Badosky, Brakeland, Overgutter, Wally, and the likes, "IT" just smokes them.

When my colleague saw this bass this afternoon he said: "Wow that is very posh, no wait!" He said... "this is not just posh this is Metropole Hotel Monte Carlo-****ing posh!! :D

And the good news is, that I have just returned to base at 11:45am, and shortly after washing this ship off me, I'll be on my way home to finally try the bass through the amp, and give the fingerboard a little wonder wipe tlc.
