Well as of yesterday I had to get rid of my Marshall. Just too unreliable. Loved the tone but can't gig with it. I have, for the moment, joined the ENGL ranks. I managed to swap my jvm head for the Richie Blackmore head. Got it at 5pm and was at a gig by 6! Gig went v well.

I have not had time to dile it in for me yet but my first impressions tell me - it's a players amp if you know what I mean.

Anyone else tried one of these or have any thoughts.

Cheers

wow, you certainly don't like waitin' around!! lol, lol, lol

That was a brand new JVM - what happened?? Yeah, the Engl's are pretty sic, great amp, however I opted for the VHT Pittbull cl/100; it's like a JCM 900with tremendous bottom end and demension.

Did you check out any Diezels??

Yeh they are amazing but just out of the price range for me at the moment. Lovin the clear tones and build quality......and the way it glows red like the gates of hell!!!!!! From what i understand the Blackmore has less gain than the powerballs, but thats ok for me as i am playing more rock than metal. I can get a cool Nuno type soud out of it so the amp is for me!

The Engl Steve Morse is one of the coolest amps made at the moment IMHO. I played a Savage Special Edition for years before becoming guitar-inactive for a while. Monstrous amp that I still regret selling. If I couldn't find one again (not made anymore and the new SE doesn't do it for me like the old one) I would get the Morse.

The Blackmore is seriously underrated and an awesome no frills, b@lls to the wall rock amp. Kick-@ss amp.

Nice Jonny have heard great things about ENGL, I just do not need that much power or I would try one.

Looks like you had the fingbeagle amp luck with the JVM:eek: I am now on month 5 of my current amp and no problems maybe I broke the curse:)
