Hi All

Does anyone know who actually comes up with the guitar and bass names and what is the reasoning behind them?

Just being nosey, JP, Luke and AL are self explanatory but what about the others?

I heard that they originally bought the patent for the Axis name for the Albert Lee, and then eventually used it on what now is the Axis model.

Like most manufacturers, EB files trademarks for its product names. I'm not sure what the strategy is, but I'm sure things change over time until a model gets released.

In the case of the Reflex, EB had an existing trademark already, so it pre-dated the model. (You can search all of these on the USPTO database btw.)

I have a good idea where the Morse and Majesty names came from! ;)

And also the early instruments had a lot of "s" names ... Sabre, StingRay, Sterling, Silhouette ... until the sig models came along.

I'm curious as to what the various names for the Majesty were before they settled on that. JP14? Dream Machine? haha who knows?

Another question is who chooses the color names...they always have a flair to them.

BTW for those of us that got a Neptune Blue, so are we part of the Neptune Society now.
