OK, so I have an inside source, top secret stuff. You understand that posting this info to the official company forum could mean curtains for someone, or maybe a bath towel, or even a nice Gingham tablecloth. But whatever, I know you guys need to know and I'm now on the wrong side of 50 and the rebel I was supposed to be when I was in my teens is exerting itself. So, there will be many posts and I must keep them cryptic and spread them apart somewhat to maintain deniable plausibility. I expect and encourage wild speculation. I have asked my inside source for photos from the factory floor, like Uncle Fester used to do in the old days, but so far there is no response to that request.

Spy Info No.1: An existing and awesome guitar will be released with a new number of strings.

More to come soon...

OK, I know you need more, but realize just how dangerous this could be! Our source could be rumbled. Or Gibson could run away with the information and make a double cutaway guitar that doesn't suck! The industry could be turned on its head!

Spy Info No.2: A body wood never before used by EBMM will appear on signature guitar.

More info to come over the weekend.

Ok.. now this is a fun thread. Someone posted factory tour pics recently, so I'm trying to pair whatever you say with what was shown, though I'm sure the photos were *very* careful not to show anything coming up.

My vote for a possible 8 string would be a richardson.

As for a wood "never" used.. buckeye was used on JP for the Japanese market, but I bet people would go bananas for a buckeye model release in the U.S.

Hmm. Haven't seen cocobolo used yet. 🤔
