Quite by accident I have a trip planned to Nashville tomorrow. I have just learned that the NAMM show is going on. Does anyone know what it would take to get in?

You need to know someone who can get you a badge. Not open to the public. If you know someone who has a store or is in the industry they might be able to get you one.

For the first time, they have a public day this time around! Should be awesome. Wish I was going! Enjoy and take pictures!

The past 3 years Summer NAMM has offered a public day. $20 gets you in the door. I don't know if the exhibitors enjoy it though.

I don't think the venue helps much either. The current convention center is old, small and tired. The new Music City Center will be bigger and nicer, but won't be done until next spring.

BP, without prying too much, what do you think is the cause of the slaughter?

they moved it to indy and then austin and the dealers got out of the habit of going....indy was a failure and so was austin. NAMM was like a guy or gal that leaves a great partner for someone on facebook and then tries to come back and pretend that all was fine.

I think it's completely pointless to have a second show after Winter NAMM. Makes NO sense to me and seems like nothing more than a money-making scam by NAMM on the dealers. It's like having a second Super Bowl the same year...
