Agreed! That's why I got two of them new 'at the time'. Especially the single H did very well in the studio for me.

I really want to hear the Caprice bass! I've been thinking about a PJ for a while and would love to try one out. How soon will dealers get them? Hopefully the more traditional design and lower price will get more dealers stocking them. Hope they sell well!

For what its worth, I might have bought a Big Al or a Reflex if I had ever seen one in person. Same goes for the neck through Stingrays. Shops seem reluctant to bring in anything but proven sellers, which for the higher end are P's, and J's of all sorts. If I hadn't stumbled across a Bongo in the local guitar center I probably wouldn't own the one I do. As it is the Bongo is my go to bass, even in a country band. Its also the only bass that I've been asked about. People either notice the looks or sound much more than anything else I play. The only thing that I would sell my Bongo for is a neck through Bongo, preferably with a 1.5" width nut option (or Bongo electronics in a neck through Stingray).

Looking forward to hearing a Caprice bass and finding out more about the Majesty bass.

The Caprice looks pretty good - looks a little bit like the body shape of the Sterling IMO. I already have 4s covered with my pair of Sabre Classics, so here's a question for BP - any plans for a 5 string version of this?? Or are you keeping it strictly vintage vibe - 4 only? I'd try out a 5 if offered, but otherwise, I'm in a holding pattern re: MM purchases this year.

I'm really liking the look and concept of the Caprice. I'll bet it's going to be a killer bass. After watching the video posted above I'm also very intrigued about Ole Smoothie and can't wait to hear one.

Mind you, I'm a 5-string player so, for me I hope these models would eventually be available in 5-string configuration.

Thanks for the video. I didn't know that OS herself was actually out there on the floor. I hope I can hear a 40SR in person soon. OTOH, I'm warming up to that Cutlass. It doesn't look "tubby" like in the EBMM website. Having AJ holding it for scale helped. Love the sculpted heel too!

I am so curious about an a/b of OS and Classic Ray-2 Band. I really hope there will be some videos out there soon!
And yes, I agree, the Caprice has "Sterling"-genes

I am really looking forward to check it one day in summer 2016. Also interesting that the back of the neck has a thin layer of poly on it.

That Cutlass is getting me hot. I like the 1 5/8 fretboard (can't fit my fingers onto a 1.5). I like the 9 pound body and I'll probably wait until one at the high end of the spec pops up at Sweetwater. (I love my 10/3 SR and would've bought a heavier one had one been available.) I like that the pickup is split and therefore adjustable to account for the fretboard radius. I like that the neck plate has more than four bolts. (Neck/body mating is crucial to tone evenness across the fretboard.) Frankly I don't see anything I don't like about the Cutlass. I'd be happy with any of the three standard colors listed on the web site. Home run, imo.
