posted on the guitar side too

the natives are restless...the usual forumites have not been posting and we are getting a lot of BS from passionate members...Understand that you cannot even take a break to take a leak. It is non stop especially with all the well wishers for the 50th....ITs hard to understand but everyone wants a piece of you....it comes with the job....but you cannot let down from Illl be there at 730 today 830 m(it is supposed to start at 10 but all the big wigs insist on pre opening meetings and doesnt end until your key hits the door to your room. You have to smile and be genuine and informative...You have to shake hands that are sweaty and 105 degrees and then shake a hand that is 45 degrees and clammy....then you have to pose for pics.....I love it but keeping you guys happy is really hard this weekend. This is where we used to be able to sell stuff but it really is a contorted public show with important customers sprinkled in.

After today we have our big celebration....I am MC and have to open the show playing with Albert Lee and Steve Morse. I havent played live in over a year and there will be 3,000 you tubes by the time I towell off....OUr great friends and players Albert, Steve, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Blues Sarasceno, Joe Bonamassa, Dave La Rue, Randy Jackson are playing a very cool interesting set. There is a video tribute to my father and the company with tributes from everyone from Nigel Tufnel to Jimmy Page....from Adam Sandler to Slash

On the product front here is a little report I posted on the Bass side

the gamechanger has grown into a device that allows you to totally rewire your guitar not just the pick ups...the jack....the toggle everything. It allows both midi in and out for switching....still never touching the signal pure analog switching unlimited digital switching. So lets say you use a midi pedal board....using midi in you and program your presets to include pickup changes...using midi out you can drive 50 different midi commands....flip the pickup switch and the fog machine turns on the lights change delay distortion ....endless sonic possibilities....

Now just Cobalt....Just the most magnetic material on the planet that was impossible to wide due to its tensile construction but before Brian and the engineers and hundreds of alloys combinations...came up with the first definable signifigant improvement in the output and frequency response of the electric guitar and bass string....

RIght there are things that are so crazy in the amount of man hours only to not be enough here so...

Everlast Electric and Acoustic strings...the most transparent and durable coating yet....crazy good

Everlast picks....in slinky colors...crazy durable and supple yet strong material for guitar picks never seen before...

New Luke 3 that incorporates passive pickups with a active circuit that is always on that does not color the sound one bit but gives the player individual control of the output and level of each spot on the switch....oh year and an adjustable up to 12 db boost 'spank button' that has allowed luke to retire his tube screamer.....

new Sterling by music man sub series....silhouette that is so good it hurts and streets at 199...a killer vintage stingray...and I mean killer one for 279 street

JP12 Probably the final installment of the JP bfr series....JP has dialed it into stainless stell frets basswood body with maple top and tone block....

THeres more

Heres to me surviving on bass tonight with three crazy fast 45 minutes and only three songs!

Wow, you guys have put out so much new stuff in the past few years. In a decade, you'll be looking back and thinking about what a crazy, productive and creative time it was in the company's history. Then again, you'll probably be cooking up some more great stuff!! You must be proud of what you guys are doing now.

I was fortunate enough to be at NAMM last year when all the initial Gamechanger stuff was going on. Me and Ben. But we took one look at the insanity surrounding the EBMM booth and knew we were just going to get in the way. Our feets hurt so we begged some chairs from Mrs BP and just stayed out of the way. It's business. People need to figure that out. Sometimes even non-imaginary friends just say, "Hey, Sterling, good to see you" and then go get a sh@tty NAMM burger.

We'll love you no matter what, you know that. NAMM is like Christmas to us gear geeks, so we love all the juicy morsels you and others can throw our way.

BP, Thanks for taking the time to fill us in. It looks like you guys are doing a ton of work for the show this year but I'm sure you know it'll all pay off in the future.

Thanks again and get some rest when you can. :D

I've already got a set of Cobalt strings on order for my 5HSp Bongo. I only have one bass that wears rounds, so that'll have to be it for now. :D

I think the forum as a collective should raise money each year to send Jack to NAMM to take and post pictures. That way we have our insider and let this fine company seller what they do best. I am sure we will see great shots of everything this week.
