Screaming I can t keep explaining it...the candid moments are gone and NAM is not as public as you can get it is very controlled.

Sure there were some hendrix films but there are more of me and I play twice a year. until you have stood on a podium you cannot explain the difference over the last coupla years I thought Travis' photos would put an end to a basic point

Luke told me about a guy taking pics of him in the bathroom at a NAMM a while back. The advent of the pocket camera in every device has really made it too easy for people to not think twice about capturing everything. Supporting BP's point, I don't think "it has always been like that". I've got videos from little jam shows that I had no idea were filmed and I'm playing with personal friends who aren't full time musicians, now out there for the world to see. That never happend in 1975 or 95 for that matter... I know it can't be stopped, but it does change the way we think and perform. I won't hammer on this anymore. Just saying BP has a valid point and it's a bummer on that level.

Amen to the videos. Yeah, sometimes the magic moment is captured...but the sound quality sucks and then who cares?

Anyway, nice to finally meet you and Jen, Travis. You guys were fabulous.

Man I can't begin to fully understand some peoples attitude. Now I'm not famous but whilst working away a guy got into the lift - really stared at me then got out his cell phone and candidly (to him, but blantantly bloody obvious to me) took a photo on his cell phone. It must be so aggravating for the likes of someone like Luke !!

I think its really ignorance and a lack of respect and most importantly the practically nonexistent common sense. This issue is not only relevant to the music industry as you talk about BP, but spills over in general in this new world. Take a look at Facebook...you literally have no control over what pictures of you others post. Could be the silliest thing that was meant to be private and spontaneous, but since every one is so damn trigger (shutter) happy, you might get fired for it next day even though you are completely professional when it is expected of you. I love photography, but life is not meant to be experienced through a lens of someone else.

I didn't say you were wrong. I agree with you. Your in the public eye though and should expect to be video taped and photographed. Just not in the bathroom. Ha! I understand what you mean BP. Alot of times things are taken out of context as well. Like moments before and after. Really though NAMM and other certain venues should limit and enforce the video.
