I am headed to the name show today. I will be taking pics, gathering info, etc. If you are interested in ordering one of the new basses, pm me with your questions and I will scope them out. I don't mind answering general questions, so feel free to post them here, but I do request that pms be limited to serious buyer inquiries. I have a lot to cram into one day and I will be trying to answer the pms as soon as i have a chance to check them.

I will do my best to update this post throughout the day, and to post pics when I get home as long as I don't pass out first!

I've seen pictures of at least three Big Al 5 single H models with rosewood fretboards from the NAMM show. This is what I'm looking for! Do these go out to dealers to be sold after NAMM? How do I track one? What do I do? I think my favorite one so far is what looks like blue pearl (pearl blue?) with a white pickguard.

We can order the bass however you like as long as the options allow for it. If you specifically want this particular bass, I can talk to glen about it.

I pretty much have resigned myself to placing a special order for a Big Al 5 single H with a rosewood fretboard when the financial planets align themselves up in just the right manner. It will be nice to order EXCACTLY what I want.

I would still, however, be curious as to what you find out from Glen, but please don't go to a lot of trouble. I'm already quite appreciative of your efforts into my inquiry.

Trying to sneak by again today so I will ask. I cannot give pricing out in this thread due to forum rules.

I got an email back from one of the online bass stores today. The prices are good. Not unreasonable at all. Uh....more than a breadbox less than a BFR.
Completely acheivable.

See if you can find out anything about the Tony Levin signature model mentioned on the Harmony-Central video.

Doh! I was looking forward to that. Oh well, there's plenty of great stuff in the EBMM booth this year.

Apparently there were some "distractions" in the booth next door too...

If Tony said that's a four string then I'm pretty sure I'm not counting right. ;)

I watch the Harmony-Central videos and keep thinking that's Steve from "This Old House".

Was there any announcement regarding new colours being offered at the show?

If so what's new in that department?

Oh yes, I know what it is all about, sire. I´ve been to Frankfurt many times and I´ve worked on several of the music fairs (and a couple of boat fairs too) myself here in Scandinavia. It´s about LOTS and lots of people, dry air, dust, thousands of questions and LOTS and lots of noise all day long for several days. Totally exhausting. I´ve come home after a full day on a music instrument fair once and called my girlfriend for Anna (her name is not Anna. Her name is Eva). Very painful mistake. She almost slapped me in the face and she did not say a word to me for several days. Not very funny then but very funny now after several years have passed. I totally understand that people say wrong things and I´ve done so myself too many many times but it´s still abit funny. It´s like watching a cartoon on the telly. You know what will happen but you laugh anyway..... :)

Many of us have had experience on your side of the NAMM fence boss, you'll get nothing short of complete sympathy from me there. It's sensory overload, sometimes 24 hrs. + and if anything it's WAY crazier than the stuff I dealt with in the '80's of that I am certain. You guys are doing an AMAZING job!

And A.J.? A.J. is a prince, if someone wants to slag him they can come talk to me first.....
